In Animal Crossing: New Horizons, players can make money by buying and selling turnips, which are akin to a stock market. Turnips can be purchased on Sunday and sold for different prices the next day. Players can maximize their pockets with high-value fish, bugs, sea creatures, fossils, and flowers from both Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
Sell flowers is a quick way to earn Bells in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, but it’s important to remember that anything above 200 bells per turnip is a decent price. In a good week, prices can reach 300s, 400s, and even 600s. Conversely, in a bad week, prices can drop to around 600.
Orange tulips can be obtained from picking red-tulip plants and sell for 40 bells. Black tulips can be obtained from picking black-tulip plants and sell for 80 bells. Selling flowers is not one of the most efficient ways of making Bells fast, so it’s not recommended to sell them.
If a friend’s island has native tulips, their Nook’s Cranny will also sell them. Players can visit the island and visit their Nook’s Cranny to buy native tulips.
Tulips can be red, yellow, white, black, pink, orange, purple, hybrid, blue pansy, and more. Some items and critters found in Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the Nintendo Switch are worth selling, from the cheapest to the most valuable.

📹 Animal Crossing New Horizons: PREDICT TURNIP PRICES (How To Know When To Sell Turnips! Stalk Market)
‘Like’ for DAISY MAE (there is no turnip emoji lol) Today we take a look at an amazing fan-made tool that helps you decide …
Tip with turnips!: With rotten turnips you can put them down and the next in game day will be ants on the turnips, you can catch them and sell them for I’m pretty sure 50 bells each ant? (Correct me if I’m wrong!) It is the only way of getting ants in your game and is extremely helpful if you forget to sell them in time. Your welcome! <3
New horizons is the first Animal Crossing game I’ve played and I originally got it because there is so much change happening in the world and I felt out of control. I needed some control and for things to stay the same so when I found out about the missions I was a bit iffy at first, as one who is anxious about change would be. The thing I was most iffy about though was the turnips as I wanted to be more focused on getting an A ranking house and a good enough ranking island for K.K. Slider. But this article helped a lot. Thank you to YouTube for recommending this and thank you to Koramora for posting this. It made me want to grab my switch and get some turnips. Too bad it’s Tuesday.
Me and my gf are trying animal crossing for the first time and loving it. I found your website and it has been very helpful so thank you so much. I really like the style and the way you present the info and the fact that you speak from your playing experience is great, as a newcomer I needed just that, some guides online are too complicated and I ultimately rely on my own experience while playing and discovering new things. So thanks again and keep this up, you are doing something great!
I’ve done some testing and turnips only seem to expire if you TT outside of the week you purchased them in. Also TTing has tanked my turnip sell prices and made my buy prices super high, so it’s not even an option for me unless I visit someone else to sell. Be careful out there, with great TT power comes great TT responsibility.
I appreciate your effort and everyone else’s effort to break this down and explain the turnip market. For me, I usually ignore the pattern and just sell them when it seems good for me. Doesn’t sound planned and it isn’t, I’m just playing this way but for me it’s ok to play years to achieve everything 😂
Hey, I doubt that you will ever see this, but I just wanted to thank you for the vids. Today I got to 5 stars and it is all thanks to this and obviously the 5 star article. Your articles are always quick, reliable and funny, and you are one of the few youtubers that provide that and you deserve more recognition in the community 🙂
After perusal the article I decided that it’s finally time to dip my toes in the turnip market, but quickly realized that this was the week where on Sunday both the resident services building and the museum were being upgraded and not available at all and the shop was planned for an upgrade on Monday 😀
For the lazy ones, the earliest people should be buying, less its random and just not normally high monday, I find selling around tuesday (the earlest) and selling thursday (max is the safest bet, if you havent sold by thursday you might want to start selling in general as those friday/saturday ones are not generally known for the highest, least from my understanding. hope that helps.
I’m listening to you speak and keep expecting you to say “holo it’s me” or “it’s not a problem anymore” your voice patterns, pitch, and slang are so close to Simplynailogical here on YouTube that it keeps making me check who I’m listening to!!!! I’ve watch three of your articles to just see if I was crazy or not and I am but still lol thanks you the tips I am using them and they are working
I bought turnips for the first time this Sunday. I waited, and Tuesday afternoon, the prices got high. I was confused, because this was still in the decreasing phase of the small spike pattern according to the graph in the article, but I continued waiting. Wednesday morning and afternoon, there were prices 50 bells higher than my buy price. However, the small spike graph said that prices were at their highest Thursday morning. I wake up today, ask Timmy and Tommy, and… 43 bells per turnip. I just sold them for about 21,000 bells. A lot, but it could’ve been higher if I just bought them yesterday. That’s what I get for not using Turnip Prophet…
I’m a pretty chronic time traveler, I just have no patience. I always reset to the right date at the end of my session just so I don’t get too far ahead. But if you don’t mind time travelling, then boy have I got some advice about how to make a killing on turnips. First of all, turnip prophet, which is mentioned and linked in this article, is they key to this success. Money trees are also a key player here. Anyway I’ll start a new week on monday planting a money tree (10k bells) every day of the week leading up to sunday. Come sunday, I usually have like 60-90k or so to invest in some turnips. Spend it all boiiiii. Using turnip profit, you can put in your turnip sell price for the day. After you’ve bought up enough turnips, save that game and change to Monday at 11:55am. (You can change it to any time, but the turnip prices change from AM to PM at noon so I like to give myself enough time to run back to my house and sell a second or even third load of turnips depending on how many I bought. Using only the money tree bells, you won’t need to worry about buying enough turnips for that the first couple times. Plant a money tree every day while you check turnip prices for bonus cash. It usually takes until Tuesday PM for turnip profit to do any meaningful calculations, but it’s important not to skip a day in order to give turnip profit the most possible data to work with. Getting used to reading the possibilities chart might take time but it’s very simple once you understand the results of its predictions.
I don’t know if I keep doing something wrong but every time I buy turnips they go off the next day. I don’t put them in my pockets- I put them either on the floor outside or on the floor in my house which was how I was told to store them and yet they still go off- like- hhhh I’ve lost so much money cause of it and I give up on turnips completely
in my first island, I never bought or sold any bells. but one day my sister made me look how much turnips were selling for in my nook’s cranny and timmy and tommy were buying turnips for 540 or 575 (either of the two I forget). I opened my island to sell to people and boy that was a ton of work. never dealt with turnips again lol acnh exchange app was really nice though, thats the app I used
Now the issue is, what are you going to do with 7m bells in your Nook Bank? I had 10m after making 4 trips to high selling priced islands and I’m down to 7m. Nook’s shop needs another upgrade! Sable’s need another upgrade. More incentive for those that are loaded (no, buying villagers doesn’t count).
Missed Daisy on Sundays because you slept in or were working? You can travel back in time on the same day. Your turnips will not rot. I do it all the time just to buy the turnips. Just make sure to set the clock again before the day ends. If its Monday and you forgot to buy turnips on Sunday and you travel back then yes, when you travel again to Monday your turnips will rot. You will get hate from people who have literally nothing else to do if you time travel (like this is a strictly multiplayer game and me time traveling affects them personally, their game and their way of life) but if you’re like me and work sometimes on sundays or its your free day of the week then sometimes you have no option but to time travel just to buy turnips. I can’t exactly take my switch to the hospital were I work at (like some people have said).
last spring + summer I was obsessed with acnh, and around summertime I decided to stop being lazy and actually learn abt animal crossing capitalism (😭) and I made 11 million bells within like a month. now over a year later i’m getting back into the game and I completely forget everything about how turnips work but I’m enjoying my wealth a little too quickly 😍 (i’ve been playing for 2 days and i’m already down a million)
There’s one thing that I don’t get/confuses the hell out of me. When I tried doing the method the first time I found the highest sell price was around 332 on Thursday AM (Note: I have not bought the turnips from Daisy yet, I am Time Traveling to see what prices are the best) . So after I found the best price I went back in time to Sunday, bought the turnips, and time-traveled to Thursday expecting the price to be 332, instead, it is 146. This enraged me, so I don’t know what I’m supposed to do when I can only get the best price once but Idk if it will be the best price. The Turnip calculator thing doesn’t help either just give me a chart which basically summarizes I have 1 chance not to get the minimum price. So IDK what to do, reply to this comment if you have an answer
my first time truly doing the stock market (I had done it before) I got the large spike- I was using a turnip calculator and all of my prices started at 80 bells and went down to like 50, but then I got impatient and just time travelled to its guess about Thursday’s prices, and VOILA! 134 bells per turnip. BUT! According to my calculator, PM was better, so I didn’t sell for that steal, instead, I went to Thursday…. AND GOT MORE THAN 400 BELLS PER TURNIP!
I know anecdotal type “this isn’t true guys my uncle works at Nintendo pls believe me for clout” claims need to be taken with a grain of salt but I’ve personally visited an island on Turnip Exchange where the BPT was over 800; maybe it’s something that got capped during a recent update? Either way, it was a thing as recently as April 25th. Totally get it if the data is more trustworthy, but at the very least, in my lived-in experience, the 660 cap wasn’t the case.
Alright so I’m between the time space of 3-4 days your turnips will increase on one day and decrease the next and on the 4-5th day it would be the peak I’m assuming which then it would be the decreasing period and then if my example is correct and your purchase day is Tuesday and your peak sell is Saturday then you would decrease in sell until Wednesday and Thursday would be your large spike peak?
I really like the turnip prophet website. Last week was my first week buying turnips to sell and I must say I really enjoyed using the website. It was super accurate and I made a decent profit last week selling mine on Wednesday morning like the chart showed me. although like you said the first week is the small spike. It made it easier to decide when to sell. I will definitely continue using it and see how it goes.
After perusal this article I got a large spike after buying turnips with 200,000 bells (Literally all of my bells) After the price going down I thought I was screwed because I thought it was going to be a big fail and I would lose all my money. I now have 768,000 Thank you. Oh yeah, and also in the middle of all of that happening my least favorite villager moved out, I was laughing all the way to the ABD.
What annoys me about her is she only appears 5 am to 12 pm, and ofc my lazy ass doesnt wake up until 11:30 am, and usually I forgot what I was gonna do during the day, and i know im not the only one who has the problem of either forgetting, oversleeping, work, or other things. As im writing this i have like a hour until she arrives and ik it aint healthy to stay up but i need the turnips :/
Btw, Just buy a duck tone of turnips Last time i bought 7000 turnips in price of 99 693000 bells later Wait until wednesday, if price is good enought, sell it. If not find someone on twitter. With a bad luck you could sell them in price range like 300/450. Remember to ask gently and follow person you asked, maybe one day they Will want to sell their turnips
There is an app you can download on android called Unofficial ACNH.Guide. It is the perfect app to have for animal crossing new horizons because it has everything you need to know about insects and fish from what’s available to catch throughout the day, how rare they are, shadow size, and even selling price at nook’s cranny. It also has info about all villagers in the game, and can help you keep track of daily objectives with a customizable check list, and what items you have obtained or donated to the museum. The best thing about this app is that it has a calculator that can predict turnip prices just like TurnipProphet where you just keep track of the buying price, the two selling prices for each day, and last week’s pattern. It does have a direct link to TurnipProphet as well, so you can still use that if you would rather without having to open your internet browser. Highly recommend downloading it for anyone who plays this game regularly
i remember buying a bunch of turnips and i sold them on like a thursday for 140 smth bells and the next day the price was 400 smth i was so mad that i gave up with turnips entirely edit: i bought turnips recently after i’d made a second acc and as soon as i switched from my main to my second, my turnips spoiled i literally have no idea why bc i didn’t time travel
I’m just now starting to play ACNH. And I’m struggling to see the appeal. What do I want turnips for? Yeah, to sell them for bells… But what do I want bells for? To buy stuff… Stuff like what? I don’t care about clothes, or furniture, or art… I don’t get it. I love Minecraft, though. It makes me want to achieve things. But, so far, ACNH doesn’t make me want to achieve anything. 🤷🏽♂️
Actually she’s explaining it very good id say hehe and i love how she’s putting in jokes to. Ive been playing this game since gamecube but ya i was a little kid back then and forsure did the turnip thing on my DS lite but its been years and city folk i didn’t actually finish but i got like super far and kinda sad the last game i didn’t play it alot. New leaf. But ya my turnips always rotted. I also wish city folk were still available but stupid wii i only bought it for this game
Just wanted to let you know I made a small error when writing the script when referencing the lowest cost of a Turnip from Daisy Mae and confused it with low cost offers from Timmy & Tommy. Daisy Mae sells turnip for between 90 – 110. Where as Timmy & Tommy’s lowest offer is 15. Thanks to everyone who noticed and corrected me 🥰
I bought for an insane price of 92 per turnip, used this graph. Let me tell ya, it can really screw you over just as much as it can help. The whole week it tells me to wait till Friday am for massive profit. After Thursday pm price was entered, it then tells me the best day to sell was Tuesday for 163 bells a turnip and that I’m gonna lose a bunch of money. Awesome be careful everyone
Thank you soooo much I am going to use this every week I can’t wait to use this, all of my friends will be rolling in bells. I can’t wait to drop my first friend 100k bells they are going to freak and ask me how I am able to do this. I’m going to tell them by understanding the Stalk Market, I can’t wait to see their response!
there is more than just that, we found an app that you can logon to a website so you can trade supplies, furnitures or asking ppl to plant your lawn etc. It depends on how ppl wanna experience the game, and without knowing how to predict it, me and my friends will share price together so we can sell at his island:)
this seems actually pretty useful and is a little more intuitive than turnip prophet. I can easily tell where my best times are on this, whereas it took some work with prophet (though prophet is a lot more specific on patterns.) I came to the same conclusion (Thursday is where my best prices start, but Friday is the most likely day. High is a little over 200.)
I have an app on my phone that has a turnip calculator/predictor built into it. It also let’s me keep track of my villagers, daily tasks and critters that are out and about in real time. You can also log all of the recipes and reactions you have learned, items you have bought, caught/ donated critters and more. It Even has a flower breeding guide and a section for you to mark which special character arrives on the island that day (flick, cj, redd, etc). I use a separate weather predicting app to get my Meteor showers and random falling starts but the ACNH Guide is awesome for housing just about everything (including turnip predicting) in one easy to use app. 😀
This tool is nice, but stalks.io is even better. It has a slightly less clear graph, but offers the same trend predictions and has a killer feature: you can create a username for you and add your friends, so THEIR information also shows on your graph. It’s awesome. I can know what’s the best prediction for the week both for me and for my friends, and so everyone can go and sell at the very best price than anyone of us can manage that week. It’s pretty amazing. Stalks.io is basically the multiplayer version of this turnip calculator you’ve shown in the article.
Animal Crossing on the Gamecube gave the highest potential returns on turnips (could get 1000+ bells per); although the stalk market only had one price change per day. AC on the DS dropped the high range to the 500-600 bell level and had 4 price changes per day — very difficult to keep up with. AC City Folk (on the Wii) introduced the present 2 price changes a day for turnips and kept the same high range; and AC New Leaf (3DS) is pretty much the same.
One day I was time traveling because I was broke and needed some bells. I bought 1,500 turnips and they were selling for around 109. I wasn’t getting any numbers higher than what I bought them for — other than 110, so my last resort was selling them on that Saturday for 51 bells… lost more than half of my money so I decided to do it all over again. I bought 800 turnips this time and continued time traveling. I got really low numbers between 30-60 and thought all hope was lost… BUT THEN I asked for turnip prices mid-week and it was like 397!! I ended up getting my money back and then some! I was so excited haha 😂
I’ve been so confused because I haven’t seen daisy mae oh my Island yet at all, and I didn’t know why she wasn’t showing up… But I think now I know what’s been happening. You said she only shows up on Sunday MORNING? Ok, yeah that explains it. I never play my game before noon because I’m always asleep before noon.
This tool is not quite accurate… I have already kept track this week of prices and found it’s ranges incorrect. Tuesday night it said the highest it could get Wednesday morning was 188, in reality i jumped up to 235, off it’s scale, when i put that in it claimed that the 235 was on the low end of today which does not agree with what it claimed last night…
Thank you not had turnips yet. Just had a notice on shooting stars today. Hope on Sunday get turnip visitor. I’ve only been playing since Christmas day. Sons Nintendo. Only get Internet at my father’s house. I’m waiting till the end of the month to get internet in my house, lol. Still got 3 iron to find to get 3rd plot finished for new people on my island.
Thanks for this. Some players are being absolute hogs and are charging ridiculous entry fees in order to sell for high prices on their island. One guy was charging people 20 nook miles Tix just to sell. That’s freakin crazy and stupid not to mention the payment up front system has a stupid high chance of you getting scammed
The graph is looking very weird when I put in my numbers. With a buy price and Monday’s AM and PM prices inputted, I get a weird graph with transparent overlapping spikes of maximums for each day that are all at 655, but the minimums and averages are all hovering around 30-150. This doesn’t really look right?
Actually, I’d like to introduce the Turnip Calcularor in the App Store. It’s a lot more accurate I’d say and gives you the actual number ranges rather than a vague chart. The app also highlights which day particularly you should sell your turnips and which is the worst day. The app also shows EVERY possible outcome and what trend it will be. So you can weigh out on the likeliness if it’s it’s a decreasing graph with 1 possibility, or a small spike graph with 8 possibilities.
The models still contain enormous variability. If you want consistent high profits, any ACNH discord website is your best bet. People sell access to their island for bells, recipes, and nook miles tickets. The cheapest access for the best prices (500+) is generally wednesday and thursday when the islands that are going to have a good week are at their peak price. If you’re looking to sell access: Late in the week, people get desperate and are willing to pay more. Protect your island resources from others by using fencing. And of course beware of scammers.
I just got 10 batches of turnips(100 turnips I think) but I don’t know where to put them. My house may not have room(even after putting away stuff. Im not sure on the max turnips u can buy either. I have the 50 sodden fence Tom nook gives when you bring in more villagers. Will that keep them from being stollen? Do I have to individually burry all 100 turnips? Someone please help
Mayor mori: opens article with gameplay footage of him collecting a 1,000 bells planted money tree That’s very comforting of the quality of this article, as you’ve already messed up doing something simple in the intro Not hating I love your website and have been subbed for months now, just wanted to point that out because it was funny
Zero results from this. I bought at 102 and diligently tapped in data and just watched the price sink day after day down to 54. That mythical spike just kept getting smaller and smaller until the chart just documented my historically bad week in the stalk exchange. It’s almost like this tool was developed by the makers of the game just to keep me playing. I’m a bit salty.
Please use turnipprophet.io instead. Sure it doesn’t look as nice, but the outputs are way more accurate as it records more data that’s used in the algorithm (the trend of your last week’s prices, and whether or not it’s your first time buying turnips). Also use it because it was here way before Turnip Calculator was. js.
I think what you’re failing to emphasize here is that getting a number like 594 is extremely rare. The calculator may have predicted the next price at a range between 141 and 614, but it’s not as if the game randomly picks a number between that range with each number having an equal chance. It will almost always hover near the low end of that range. That makes this calculator feel somewhat meaningless. So many days it’ll tell me I COULD get a super high price in the next phase but in reality it’s always less than 140. It’s false hope. I wouldn’t even be surprised if you made up all the numbers you put on the chart in this article since we never saw footage of T&T actually quoting you those prices.
