How To Wash Curly Hair With Water?

To wash curly hair, start by gently removing it with a shampoo containing natural oils rather than sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), which is too harsh for curly hair. Condition the hair with a product designed for dry or damaged hair every time you shampoo to retain moisture and strength. Start with lukewarm water to gently open the hair cuticle, allowing for effective cleansing without stripping away natural oils. After conditioning, finish with a cold water rinse to seal the cuticle, lock in moisture, and reduce frizz.

To style and maintain curly hair, thoroughly detangle it in sections, apply pre-shampoo treatments for extra hydration, and only use lukewarm water when washing curly hair. Shampoo and condition the hair in sections, starting by wetting dry hair with warm water to allow the shampoo to penetrate the strands and do its job. Apply the curly hair shampoo, concentrating the product on the scalp and not bunching it. Apply an oil at least 30 minutes or overnight before washing your hair, then detangle with your hands. Saturate your hair with warm water, detangle with conditioner if needed, and apply a leave-in moisturizer to help with dryness and frizz.

To start a natural curly hair wash day routine for all curl types (3a, 3c, 4b, 4c, and more), follow these steps: detangle gently, wet your hair thoroughly, apply sulphate-free shampoo, rinse thoroughly, remove excess water before applying conditioner, apply conditioner, rinse thoroughly, and dry. Avoid applying shampoo onto a dry head of hair, as it leads to decreased production of sebum or natural hair oils over time. Instead, use a gentle back and forth motion to avoid bunching up curls.

  • Actually you don’t condition your hair in Cool Water you condition your hair and lukewarm water then you rinse it out with cool water to lock the moisture in your hair if you close the cuticles the moisture isn’t going to absorb and that’s what cold water does that’s why you do the rinse out with cold water and not the actual watch

  • I have locs but I am perusal this regardless…Also I just picked up the design essential mousse cause I was looking to pick up a replacement after I ran out of The Doux Mousse. I smelled it and immediately needed to pick it up😭 Also since you already use their products I highly recommend the inner sense hydrating cream conditioner, expensive but you don’t have to use a lot. If you need more just use it with water.
