Can you buy peonies all year round?
Peonies are available almost all year round, but this is due to product manipulation in dry and wet storage. The old canard that peonies are best for weddings is still true, but production in the Southern hemisphere during spring has two production windows. Early varieties include Coral Charm, Coral Sunset, Red Charm, Paula Fay, Pecher, and Duchesse de Nemours. During the main months of production (May and June in the North; October and November in the South), a wide variety of great peonies is available.
Late varieties include Henry Bockstoce, Mary Nicholls, and Elsa Sass. The pale lavender and pale green zones indicate that peonies have been stored, but their reliability is hit or miss due to compromised vascular systems during dry storage and severe dehydration of the inflorescence.

I’m thrilled for you! I don’t know why people have such a fit about pronunciation! At one of my gallery shows I kept having to explain to collectors about my work.. small floral painted jewelry. I call the pee-oh-née. One person would come in and tell me “it’s pee-ah-nee “. So I’d change it for the next person and they tell me “oh no, it’s pee-oh-nee”. This went on for 4hrs! After that I never apologized or bother to call them anything else. They are pee-oh-nees to me and those people know what I mean when I say that so I don’t know why they need to correct me. 😡
I’m on the shore in Maryland, I say peony the same, my mom always did too. I don’t know why everyone doesn’t, I say it the way it’s spelled, there’s an o there people, not an a. Sorry that dog scratched up your car, that’s some welcome to the neighborhood, they can be buffed out, but still, what a scary thing to go thru.
I hope the neighbor’s dog doesn’t bother your plantings. Hopefully you talked to them about it as well. Having to install a fence because of someone else’s pet is ridiculous. But you’ll probably need one at some point anyway to keep wild animals out, especially with all the planting you’ll most likely do.
I would go talk to your local dog control. My county came and they had a talk to the owners and ive never had a problem again and thats been right at a year now. I never got attcked but they was all over my plants as they was very hyper dogs. Those dogs will destroy all your hard work too. It awesome that you like growing things like I do. Its so hard to find friends my age tha aint afraid to get on thier knees. In my area everybody that like plants are the older genrations. Glad you was ok!!
