The Guardian of Gaia 2 is a powerful enemy that can be defeated by building an arena around the battlefield and spamming Thorn/Flame chakrams. To defeat it, build an arena around the battlefield and have at least 12 Thorn/Flame chakrams. A fast firing ranged weapon for the fairies can narrow the battle down to thorn or flare chakrams in Botania. Using a bright colored floor can make beating the Gaia Guardian easier.
The Ritual of Gaia is a ritual added by Botania to summon the Guardian of Gaia, which is the source of Gaia Spirits. To perform the ritual, a Beacon and 4 Gaia Pylons are needed. The Gaia Guardian drops 8 Gaia Spirits upon defeating it, needed for many end-game items in Botania. The Gaia II guardian drops 16 spirits and a random amount of Gaia Spirits.
To beat Gaia under geared, make botania potions, particularly the one that gives absorption, and have 10 of these in your inventory. Crafting Gaia Spirit seeds requires a Gaia spirit crux, but there is no crafting option.
To summon the boss, shift right-click a Terrasteel Ingot on an active Beacon with 4 Gaia Pylons nearby. Prepare and use Botania brews, such as strength, fire resistance, and regeneration, and use easy difficulty if necessary.

Today we take on the Gaia Guardian fight from Botania! We go over how to set up the ritual of gaia, how to summon the gaia …
Monsters spawn by Gaia Guardian all have a fire-resistance effect applied, so the sun does nothing to them. It’s to avoid various cheese tactics involving lava. Plus generally, with the amount of protection you have, they are annoying at most. I don’t think they are actually capable of killing a player in full enchanted Terrasteel Armor. About the fight itself… I wanted to say that the regenerating flower is a bad choice because of its low range and the lack of lasting buff, but seeing the fight I see that it’s actually capable to almost over regenerate the damage. Still, without the full Protection IV gear, it wouldn’t be enough, and if you stay in the flower’s range, you’re much more likely to hit. I personally would still prefer Pendant. Other things very useful for the fight are Ring of Dexterous Motion and Absorption Brew. The former is perfect for escaping purple fields, and the latter is capable of totally mitigating the occasional hit or two. Generally, my tactic for the fight was to run around dodging fields while trying to hit the Guardian with Terra Blade. I lost a few times, but it was before I discovered how powerful Absorption Brews are (and before I did some re-enchanting on my armor).
It’s absolutely amazing all of the anime references that I never got the first few times I played through botania. I cant remember all of them off the top of my head but the one I can remember as well as the two in this article so far and a bonus one from minecraft for those who might ask The fallen kanade is a reference to angel beats, kanade is a character in angel beats and iirc ” I’m not an angel” is a direct quote. the Jiyuulia is a reference to attack on titan, I assume the name is a reference though I’m not completely sure as to what since it’s been years since I’ve watched the show however “Flügel der Freiheit” is the title of one of the opening songs on the show. One not in this article, and I’m not sure if rage covers it in this series, is the shard of laputa which is a reference to laputa in castle in the sky. Now for the bonus one minecraft’s iron golem is a reference to the golems in castle in the sky as well. I’m fairly certain there’s a few more in botania but I cant remember anymore of them if there are.
Fun fact: the purple fields NEVER spawn on top of the pylons. If you are in a modpack that gives some kind of 1.5+ block auto stepping (*cough mekasuit+upgrade *cough) and then something that prevents knockback, you never have to worry bout getting withered as long as you remain on top of a pylon. Getting withered is the highest form of damage the Gaia can do to you if you got protection 4 on all pieces (or if you got the mekasuit/draconic evolution crap/etc.)
