Ways To Dilute Peanut Butter?

Watery peanut butter is a common issue in all-natural peanut butter, as the peanut oil rises to the top. To make it thinner, dilute the peanut butter with two tablespoons of water or milk for every tablespoon of peanut butter and blend at low speed for thirty seconds until a homogenous solution is obtained. If the peanut butter still looks grainy or thick, add a small amount of oil, such as vegetable or coconut oil, and mix it in gradually.

To soften peanut butter, expose it to heat, such as using the stovetop or microwave. If you want to avoid heat, you can also soften peanut butter by storing it upside down. If your peanut butter is too thick, add a little water to the peanut butter and stir until it reaches the desired consistency.

The National Peanut Board suggests adding a little water for extra moisture, but be careful not to overdo it, as too much water can make the peanut butter runny. Another option is to heat peanut butter up to liquify the fat content.

To thin peanut butter, add small amounts of water until you get the desired consistency. You can dilute your peanut butter with olive oil or honey, which makes it more sweet and gives a sticky texture. Warm water, oil, milk, or other liquids and pour them over the peanut butter while whisking it. Gradually dilute the peanut butter with the other hot liquids, stirring each time until the mixture is smooth. Warm water is best because it helps loosen the nut butter more quickly, and generally equal parts nut butter to liquid is the best ratio.

For a creamier consistency, use milk instead of water. If you’re making a savory sauce, use a different method to achieve the desired consistency.
