The Harbor Freight Tools 6×8 Greenhouse, a 3+ year old greenhouse, requires at least one panel replacement. The 3.5mm thickness should work fine in the aluminum frame, but there are concerns about moving to a translucent white color. Choosing the ideal thickness of polycarbonate is crucial for the overall performance and longevity of the structure.
The greenhouse features a double-extruded aluminum frame, two sliding doors for easy access, and four allowed near the greenhouse. However, heavy weight of snow or debris can cause parts of the greenhouse to collapse. To overcome these challenges, the greenhouse kit includes covering the panels, adding a framework, raising the roof, and reconfiguring the door.
New sheets were purchased from Menards, with 8mm for the roof and 6mm for the walls. This is a big improvement over the original polycarbonate. The 4mm thick Harbor Freight twinwall polycarbonate panels are a significant improvement over the original polycarbonate.
The greenhouse has an aluminum frame, a sliding double door, four roof vents, and 2 ply 4mm polycarbonate panels. It is twin walled polycarbonate, similar to corrugated cardboard but made from plastic. The original panels are 4mm thick, and replacement panels can be ordered directly from Harbor Freight. Each clear polycarbonate panel in the HF greenhouse kit will be covered on the exterior side with 6 mil UV resistant plastic.
