  • Although it’s been featured in many compilations before I would have picked Hugh pulling the plug from the treadmill instead of the sandwich delivery task because in this one he still didn’t win (Noel did) but I believe Hugh’s victory in the treadmill task is the biggest landslide victory throughout the show given the ball stayed on there for 4 months

  • 6:20 For those who haven’t watched the full episode. There was a task earlier to that to put on the boiler suit and lie on the ground the alarm sounds. The idea was that the contestants would have tied themselves and then have to untie themselves, do the boiler suit task and then tie themselves again. But Rhod being Rhod just casually did the task with no panic.

  • “Throw something into this pedal bin from the furthest distance.” The task doesn’t say the thing you throw must land inside the bin. If you chuck something and it smashes into the side of the bin, you can say “I’ve thrown something into the bin.” The same way you might say, “my car crashed into another car.” Doesn’t mean your car ends up inside the other car.

  • I watched a show similar to Fear Factor in which occasionally the host would do the challenges. Every time he did he showed they could have done it completely smarter For example: they had to hold on to a horizontal pole that would get progressively higher. So he climbed up and hung with his arms and legs instead of just his hands.

  • If placing balls on top of the hill was imperative to the comlpetion of the task, the card should have read something among the lines of “place all three balls on top of the till, on the yoga mat.” – i.e. mention the hill before the mat. As Richard points it out, in mentioning the mat first and hill second, Alex was basically just helping the contestant find the mat.

  • For the pedal bin, throwing something “into” it can also mean up against it, like the way you would “crash into” something, rather than the crash taking place inside it. Just the sound of the rocks hitting the bin would qualify for the “into” part. I wonder also if you can delay saying “Your time starts now,” until after you’ve figured out how to do it, and then read that final bit out loud and complete it the quickest.

  • Richard Osman’s loophole can also be a Reduced Adjective Clause. “The mat THAT IS on top of the hill” can be reduced when a phrase that describes the subject (the mat) is connected with “THAT”/”WHO”/”WHICH” and immediately followed by the verb “to be” (in this case, “IS”). To reduce the clause, we eliminate the connector and the verb “to be” “THAT IS”. The reduced sentence would be “The mat on top of the hill”.

  • 5:30 There was a man who thought the whole world had gone mad. So he took four side of fencing, put them ’round his house, and declared the entire world an insane asylum, and his little patch of home as the ‘outside.’ Rhod tied himself and the entire world (universe) up so tightly, he couldn’t be untied.

  • on the last one, just put your foot down once, take a bite (if you want to game the game harder take a miniscule bite, as it’s technically not against the rules) and slide your “raised” foot the whole way to Alex. It may not deliver all of the food, but it might just be faster than hopping to some scissors

  • Just found this website. I think I’m gonna like it. I paused the vid so I can make my own guess. For the first challenge, my initial idea would be to stand near the bin, toss a ball as straight up as I can, while it’s in the air, open and grab the bin, and catch the ball as it comes back down. The instructions don’t specify how it will be measured, which doesn’t disqualify measuring the rise and fall of the ball. I don’t know exactly how high I could throw a ball vertically, but I’d wager at least 20ft making 40ft total. Another option would depend on how the bottom of the can is attached, some may have a bottom that can be removed. If that’s the case here, just flip it over, so the closed lid is on bottom, and start tossing. So my second idea would count, but the lady brought up a good point. If the pedal bin must be shut when you throw the thing, by kicking out the bottom, you’ve now created 2 openings, and closing the lid means it’s now open on one end. That being the case, I wouldn’t say it’s shut. The second challenge would depend on how Alex feels about personal space. My initial thought it that doesn’t really matter how I restrain myself, so long as I don’t leave much slack, and the two ends of the rope end up under me. So they’d have to rummege around my taint if they want to untie me. Alternatively you may just stick the ends in your pants from the start. Lastly, the instructions do say as securely as possible, so this loophole may or may not be accepted, but you could just tie together two of your fingers, and simply run from Alex.

  • the yoga mat part. The task talked about putting three yoga balls on the yoga mat on top of the hill. The task would be complete when all three balls sit stationary on the mat. The task didn’t specify the location for said mat for completion :3 It only said that there is a yoga mat on top of the hill xD Didn’t say anything about not being able to move it.

  • For the yoga mat and medicine ball one, i would like to point out that the second sentence never mentiones the hill. The wording was ” the challenge is over when all three balls are stationary on the mat” so the first mention of the hill was arguably there just to make sure people dont get another mat

  • this is the FUNNIEST most brilliant tele series ever on in the history of tele. ALex: you don’t get the credit you deserve. but greg is painfully funny. of course the casts are also incredible. i have no streaming service at present and can’t get my fix other than some clips on you-boob and crack book. but… I LOVE you all. thank you for breaking me up on the regular. proper fun this is.

  • I’m reminded of Hell’s Kitchen. Contestants constantly found loopholes in the early seasons from voting off strong team members that would pose a threat later on to sabotaging others during service and the crew just had to let it happen. It got so bad that Gordon Ramsay made a special addendum that he can bend and change the rules however he wants whenever he wants if he thinks something unfair or unnecessary is happening.

  • If I was the one doing the last challenge, I would have walk across It said, Your raised foot must not touch the ground. It said nothing about your raised shoe touching the ground and the raised foot will be in the shoes therefore your raised foot will be touching the shoe (sock if you wearing them) not the ground

  • Never said you had to get it in the pedal bin in a single throw. 1. Throw object with pedal bin closed. 2. Pick up object, open pedal bin, throw object inside. or 1. With pedal bin closed, throw object to second person. 2. Open pedal bin, second person places object in bin. or 1. Learn ventriloquism. 2. Throw voice into closed bin.

  • There was a much easier loophole to bring Alex his dinner. “Stand on one leg then continue reading” stands on right leg “Bring Alex his dinner. Every time your raised foot touches the ground, eat a slice of Alex’s dinner. Your time starts now” immediately set left foot down, eat a slice, then lay down and crawl the tray under the strings to Alex Your left foot never leaves the ground again — you only touch the ground once so you only eat one slice and do it faster than everyone.

  • The Yoga mat one I don’t really think of as being an unusual interpretation. “Place these 3 exercise balls on the yoga mat on the top of that hill. The task is complete when all 3 balls sit fully inflated and stationary on the mat. Fastest wins. Your time starts now.” The key here isn’t the first sentence. It’s the second. All it says is that the balls are on the mat, not where the mat is when that happens. The words “these” and “that” provide specificity in the first sentence. Which balls? These balls. Which hill? That hill. So you couldn’t use another yoga mat (unless there were two yoga mats on the top of the hill), and you couldn’t use another set of balls. But once you have that all identified and specified, the task merely asks you to put the balls on the mat, it doesn’t specify where the mat needs to be to complete it just where it is starting out.

  • Thank you so much! And thank you for explaining why watercolor artist taped their paper down! It’s the little tips that artist deal without even thinking that us beginners need. I wish I could attach a photo because I just completed this tutorial and my third watercolor painting. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge!

  • Liesl, I love your tutorials! You’re a fabulous teacher! With the first one that I saw, I subscribed to your website. I’m an acrylic painter, and just learning now to paint with watercolor. I’m disabled and I can’t sit very long, so it’s great that your tutorials aren’t 2-3 hours long. I’m disappointed that this tutorial is over a year old, and I can’t get the outline. Thank you for letting us see your wonderful artistic ability! ❤️

  • VERY Nice Job ! Really enjoyed your article Could you please show more about your final stage of painting where you put in the last touches of detail ? I wasnt clear about what you meant and how you do this. Thank you so much for all the effort you put into putting this article together and giving us the information so we can try to do a similar piece. Its a great composition and a beautiful painting

  • Sort of a … sadder, I guess, approach to signing my work: I sign and date my artwork when I think to and I tend to do it when I’m unhappy with the final result. Like one day I’ll look back and go “wow, look how much I’ve improved!” Beautiful tutorial and painting! Thank you for sharing. I kind of wish I knew there was a reference drawing at the beginning of the article, because I just started painting along and struggled hard with the perspective. The teaser thing, I get it, but it came off as unrelated. I wish I bought the reference material to not only support you but have an easier and more joyful painting experience

  • Lovely painting. Im trying to find out the difference between mop and quill brushes. Today I thought I found out that a quill was thinner and longer than a mop. The brush you are using looks more like a mop to me. Could you explain pretty please. Im so confused with trying to figure it out. Seems like sometimes quills are called mops and mops are called quills. .. LOL

  • I absolutely loved this tutorial 🌸☺️ Generally I do not like waterbased mediums especially watercolour only because I could not get a grip of them..also it requires lots pf patience . I decided to come out of my comfort zone and tried this painting!! I’m so happy with the results 🥰 Btw do you have an Instagram account..would love to share my artwork with you😄🌸💓
