The Water Mode Method Apple Watch?

Water Lock is a feature on the Apple Watch Series 7 that prevents water damage to the device by locking the display and ejecting water from the speaker and microphone after submersion. To enable Water Lock, press the side button (for watchOS 9 or earlier) and tap the Water Lock button at the top of the watch face. The Water Lock icon appears at the top of the watch face.

To turn off Water Lock and eject water, press and hold the Digital Crown until a sound plays. If the lock is cleared, try a restart first. Apple Watch’s water resistance allows most models to be submerged in water as deep as 50 meters.

To enable Water Lock, open Control Center from any screen and tap the Water Lock button, which has a water drop icon at the top of the watch face. If you have timing problems with the quick press and release of the flat oval side button, look for the droplet-shaped icon that represents Water Lock.

To turn off Water Lock and eject water, press and hold the Digital Crown until a sound plays. If the lock is not cleared, try a restart first.

In summary, Water Lock is a feature on the Apple Watch Series 7, designed to prevent accidental taps and water damage. To enable it, press and hold the Digital Crown until the lock is cleared.

  • Good job thanks. It’s q bit confusing even on AW7 they don’t really explain how or when to use it. It’s water resistant out of the box, but the Water button just locks the screen and then has the ability to vibrate out that water. So it’s not actually necessary to hit the Water Button if you jump in the pool or whatever.

  • This really helped me because my watch somehow had water under the face case. Mine you I was Best Buy Geek Squad, and I am a TotalTech Customer I asked the Geek Squad guy to help me, and he said I don’t know what to do! And he had on an Apple Watch! He went to get someone else… 🤦🏾‍♀ $200😝! You explained it in less than 2 minutes! Thank you👑

  • Thanks so much! You are easy to understand, it was quick and to the point and my Apple watch is now happily back to being on dry land ! I actually just was curious what the droplet feature was all about, and pressed it without having a clue as to what it actually does??? So I had to go reverse engineer it, you might want to start out with “if you have no clue what the little BLUE water droplet on the apple menu does ….etc. Great presentation, suggestion though have a picture of the apple watch feature on the screen from the start! Kudos! :OD
