The Curry Leaf Plant is a low-maintenance plant that thrives in full sun or partial shade. It requires well-draining soil with a pH level between 6.0 and 7.0, and ample sunlight. To maintain its health, water the plant when the top inch of soil feels dry, which is typically every 1-2 weeks. Consistency is key to the plant’s health, and it is recommended to mist the leaves once a week with a spray bottle.
Curry leaves grow rapidly once the weather warms, so only water when the top 1-2 inches of soil are dry. Harvest the leaves when the plant is at least 6″ tall, and avoid watering during winter when the tree is dormant or temperatures are below freezing. Potted plants require more frequent watering, every 2 to 4 days.
To keep the newly planted curry leaf plant hydrated without over-watering, keep it in a shaded area for a few weeks and avoid fertilizing. In the cold season, keep the plant indoors near a window where it gets sunlight, away from drafts that give heat.
Curry leaf plants are low maintenance, and all you need to start is seeds, potting mix, and a small pot. As your plant grows taller, you can gradually acclimate to full sun exposure. In summer, potted plants should be moved to light shade to prevent the leaves from burning. In warmer months, keep the plant on the dry side, allowing the soil to dry before watering. We recommend growing in clay pots to ensure the roots are protected from harmful insects.

as an experiment, I started growing Curry Leave plant in my bedroom, under LED and beside a small window. It has been doing good for more than 2 months now, new leaves are coming out after every second week. The plant is overall healthy and smiling except the small size of the leaves… hope this survives in a long run…
Good tips. Also diluted soap solution works to prevent/ cure all the issues. I prefer that over Neem oil as it can be easily washed off before consumption. The other thing I have also done so the plant doesn’t get leggy, I hard prune it 12- 16 inches from soil. This helps for the trunk to get thicker as months go by. You should try that with your mother plant.

What kind of potting mix/soil is best for propagating the cuttings? I have a tree that is over 8 feet tall now that has been growing in a pot indoors. I’ve been repotting it again and again over the years. But it’s past the point of a repotting job now. I live in northern Wisconsin, so planting it outdoors is definitely not a possibility.
I bought a very small curry leaves plant from nursery, now it’s about 1 year… That plant is in same size till now… I tried of cutting it.. Actually its small stem, after cutting it sprouted new leaves…. And stopped growing after reaching a same size as before . Still it same condition.. It’s alive…

But the poor little thing does not give up and some signs of growth still appear. Pls help me with advice to save it. I leave in Northen Europe winters are cold here. I have my plant over a radiator. I’ve a rather horrific experience with curry leave palnt. Few years ago we planted one curry leave plant in our Mango Orchird. Now, they have encroached almost all the empty patch of soil in the orchid. We tried every single mean to get rid of them, but of no avail. Due to the excessive encroachment of Curry plant, the mango plantation is taking a huge toll.
My curry leaf plant grew nicely for a year. But i plucked all leaves once. Since then it has not regrown but it was not dead too till 1 more year. Since someone asked to cut a branch and also to add plant food, yogurt and even little warm water in winters. Suddenly it sprouted. But since December again it’s not growing further but not dead too.
