How To Administer An Enema With A Water Bottle?

An enema is an injection of fluid directly into the rectum that helps you poop. It can be obtained at your healthcare provider’s office or from a pharmacy. To perform an enema at home, lubricate your anus and enema nozzle with coconut oil, mix the solution, fill the bag with distilled water, and use the clamp to insert the nozzle gently into the rectum.

Health coach Lisa Talev provides a step-by-step tutorial on how to do water enemas for various health benefits, including relieving constipation. You can give yourself an enema at home using a kit with an enema bottle or bag, or a nurse or other healthcare professional can do it. The article explains how to use an enema at home, why it’s used, and how to follow your healthcare provider’s instructions or the package’s instructions for how often to use the enema, what the dosage should be, and how to.

To perform an enema at home, first lubricate your anus and enema nozzle with coconut oil. Mix the solution, fill the bag with distilled water, and use the clamp to insert the nozzle gently into the rectum. Squeeze the bottle forcefully and shoot its contents into you.

An enema kit is an easy-to-use and effective cleansing system with everything you need. It involves inserting fluid through the rectum to clean stool (poop) out of your bowel or stimulate your bowel to empty. A multi-use enema and hot water bottle is also available, making it great for aches and pains, chills, sprains and strains, reducing swelling, and easy glide comfort.

  • I have been doing this for about a month now, once a week. I cannot use soap as I find it too irritating. I also found that I cannot lay on the floor as it is too hard to get up when I am full. I have been using baking soda, one tablespoon to 2 qts of water. I also found out that one enema just loosens things up and it takes a 2nd enema to get things out. You are very informative about gut health and I appreciate it

  • My first article on enemas. I have people that tell me how to do this but I’m deathly afraid so that’s why I’m perusal my first article. This is very informative. I have digestive problems that I’ve had since I was a child and it’s getting worse as I get older trying to detox and maybe do this procedure.

  • I have chronic constipation and I think I’m impacted right now. I don’t have pain but I’m extremely uncomfortable and I have also had a lot of abdominal surgeries and I don’t have nerves that feel pain in my lower extremities. I have a bidet and I’ve noticed I can go a little bit if I use it at the rectum while straining. But it’s basically 3 or 4 “deer pellets”, so I know I’ve got to do more than that. The thought of doing this to myself is terrifying for me as well, I’ve never done it, I don’t know about getting on the floor, I would have a very hard time getting up. But I’m about to try this thing. And thank you for the article and making it seem normal. Lol because it sure feels weird.

  • I’ll be doing my first one today, and I do appreciate your help. I have always had digestive problems especially in the last 10 years. But I just recently had spinal fusion surgrry, and to aid in healing and into feeling good, for once in a long time.. makes me very very happy. Honestly I hope it works as well as everybody says it does!

  • My one year review of the can kit you recommended. It works very well and has a slot on the side so it can be attached to a wall. I put a small hook on the wall of my shower and the cane hangs from it very well. I tried placing it on something flat, but it tipped over several times. I feel much better when I use this can regularly. My mother would have loved this can instead of a bag so she could have added more water easily. Instead, she removed the nozzle while she had me kneeling in the shower while she refilled the bag at the sink, sometimes with more soapy water. You mentioned holding the solution. Mummy always said “Be a good boy for Mummy and hold it while I get ready to give you more” I always tried to be a good boy for mummy even when I came home from college for the summer and got them several times a week.

  • Stumbled onto your website the other day. Just finished your initial road map. Good common since approach. I am going to start this process immediately. Look forward to learning more thru your other articles. I am sharing this with my wife since she does all the food things in our home. Regarding enemas. In the last two years started having digestive issues with constipation. Before that none except as a child where my mom gave us enemas. Hopefully changing my eating habits over time will help in that area. Question? The red bag i have holds 2 quarts, and take them only when i am constipated. Looks like you did not use that much in your article. Always feel real good afterwards. Have read a little on Colonics as to colon health. your thoughts? Thank you Hank

  • I actually mentioned to my GI doctor that I have been using an occasional enema . He was not against it, but thought soap was too harsh. I am glad that I started this process as it has made me feel better and lighter and along with a glass or two of metamucile and some pro biotics, apple cider vinegar, it seems my overall well being has improved over the past month or so. It is not something that you can discuss with just about anyone as so many do not understand and even think it is unnecessary and even weird. I am glad I have the support of Confluence and of my girlfriend as it makes it so much easier. Because of how this is progressing I am starting to think that twice a week for a good series is needed as long as the other methods are used in conjunction

  • I’m thank full for this article, I’ve had irritated bowels and sever constipation most my adult life, I had to have an enema in the hospital years ago, it was horrible I passed a tennis ball size white bowel and it smelled atrocious, I’ve been told I have slow digestion,a lazy bowel I’ve been told I have IBS, diverticulitis, a Hernia? Which turned out NOT to be the case (second opinion,)

  • I have had MS for 50 years. For the last 10 years, I have not been able to walk independently or to get up off the floor. I have chronic constipation caused or worsened by nerve damage. I have less than well-working pelvic floor muscles. I had a terrible accident when I gave myself an enema in a nearby room, and didn’t make it to the bathroom “in time”. I know it is possible to do an enema when sitting on the toilet, but I don’t know how that is possible. I really need instructive guidance! I am pretty miserable when I’m backed up, which is about 1/2 or 1/3 of the time. My medical practitioners just say to do it, but none of them have been helpful at all about HOW! Can and will you help?

  • I’m going trough it 😢😢i can’t used the restroom.. at times i go 1 to 1½ weeks without a single thing coming out or I’ll be 4 weeks and used the restroom little by little to it all comes out in 3 hour struggle..balls first then all the mud last ..if i dont flush trough the whole prosses you won’t believe how much comes out😢 ⅓of a bucket shi you not on god .. i had a tumor in my spine so my surgery messed up my ability to use the restroom.. i need to change my diet and drink water

  • Yes I believe those fleet enemas are a joke and just a tease, I was in for a colonoscopy they gave me a fleet enema and came back a half hour later to see if I expelled I told the nurse Oh I forgot you gave me an enema, could have went forever without expelling, didn’t do a thing for me and I do not recommend them either, do the real deal you feel so much better, find a quiet private place that’s comfortable for you to get up and down totally relax and go slow and just relax, it’s not an impossible task anyone can do it. enjoy. Thanks for the article Amanda.

  • I have had various form of constipation for 30 years. I thought it was just diarrhea & told my doctors I usually go to the have releases at least one to two times a day; but they are cow paddies or tiny “pebbles” & occasionally get hard to pass logs & all they ever did was give me stool softeners; which made my diarrhea worse. Now the news is full of diarrhea is constipation.! So I’ve been checking articles. The worse thing was this week with little pencil thin “pebbles” coming out. So I realize I may need enemas. I can’t do floors; as I can’t get up from the floor; I have back & knee issues; I have bed pads; but I’m not sure; if I should try that. Any suggestions. I’m getting my first colonoscopy in 25 days; but recent articles have me terrified the Gavilyte won’t work.

  • Is activia probiotic yogurt good to use as a yogurt enema? Probiotic are as ive heard very good for you, and by using that way it doesn’t have to go through stomach acids that would break down alot of the useful things. Administer the same way it comes out of the carton? Use a squeeze method? Or what could you thin it a bit with as not to affect the composition of it? Thanks

  • After eating the past 3 days my stomach has been super bloated and hurting so last night I used a stimulant free liquid laxative and a suppository and that usually makes me feel better but it didn’t I still feel so much pressure in my lower stomach and feel like I can’t eat. I was thinking of going to the doctor. But was wondering whether I should try an enema first? I’ve been constipated my whole life

  • I started using at home enema kit because of constipation and an anal fissure. They really help with the whole process being pain free and easy. I recently am doing them every other day and fell really healthy, but slightly concerned this may be too much? As my body isn’t technically pooping on its own. Any advice would be amazing as I cant find much info in the mainstream!

  • Hi! I was wondering if I could talk to you, through DM? I have kind of an emergency ish. I’ve already been to my doctor and I’ve gotta wait until the 6th for a gi tracking test thingie to test for gastroparesis. I’m so bloated now and I’ve taken ALL of the recommended rotor routers so to speak and no 💩. ! I feel like I’m going to explode. I don’t know what to do. It feels like I have to go so bad. My doc thinks I might be gastroparesis because of my diabetic neuropathy not letting me poo. It’s been like a month since I’ve had a good bowel movement. I’ve drunk 2 bottles of magnesium citrate, I take Dolosift stool softeners, I drink Miralax prescription every day, and tried that Phillips chalk stuff AND that tasteless oil lub crap you suppose to drink. And a regular enema. Nothing. I bought a colon cleanse enema and gonna try saltwater. I can’t wait until July 6th, then another week while they study my food thing. I truly need help. Any ideas, anyone. Please. My email is [email protected] 🙏🏻 😔
