How To Turn A Bed Frame Into A Garden Cart?

This DIY wooden cart is designed to be as rugged and durable as any cart you can buy at any price, yet the materials cost doesn’t much more than a hundred bucks. It’s one of the wisest ways to build a garden cart for hauling everything from bags of mulch to flats of flowers. Made from durable, straight-grain white ash, this heirloom cart will be a garden workhorse for years.

The frame is built from wood from a salvaged bed frame, the top is a salvaged folding table, and the motor is an investment. The cart has four wheels that unload the weight on the ground while the sides and bottom are made from 2×4 lumber, as it’s cheaper than sheet metal and will be quieter in the woods.

The flex from the angle iron will give a softer ride, and the steering is done by getting the four corners squared and installing removable sides and ends. Measure and mark your cuts using the bottom and back of each of your side panels. Line up the bed and make sure to measure the lengths of the sides and ends to ensure a smooth ride.
