Lilies can be effectively removed from their scent by using techniques such as water rinses, charcoal absorption, or essential oils. This allows for a more enjoyable experience without being overwhelmed by the scent. To control the scent of Easter lilies, remove the stamen with tweezers and allow them to remain beautiful for about five minutes.
To maintain freshness, regularly change the water in the vase and trim the stems. To prevent pollen stains, choose between buying lilies without pollen, snipping off stamens, or spraying them with hairspray. If pollen does not get into the flowers, brush it away using a pipe cleaner.
Other types of lilies, such as Oriental lilies, are known for their beauty and fragrance. They are hardy, easy to grow, and can be easily removed with fingers or floral shears. If pollen gets on the petals, brush it away using a pipe cleaner. Big pink lilies are the only scented ones, so pulling them out is fine.
Blow on the pollen, use a dry brush to whisk it off, let the spot dry in the sun, or gently remove the pollen by going back and forth over it. While cutting the stamens off doesn’t completely eliminate the smell, it helps prevent staining. A little bleach in the water may help, but it’s not great.
In conclusion, removing the stamen from Easter lilies can help diminish their unpleasant smell while preserving their beauty. By making conscious choices at the time of purchase, you can significantly reduce the intensity of the lilies’ smell in your living space.

I have watched 3 articles on this now. Glad to see it does not damage the flower from pulling them out instead of snipping,, but so far no one has mentioned that removing the pollen pods early also helps the blossom stay fresh and beautiful longer before wilting. Even Martha Stewart only said it keeps pollen from getting on and staining your clothes.
