One summer in ’93 or ’94, my high school buddy and I were mountain biking in the area and crossed this bridge. There was a foot of water covering the roadway and we had to portage our bikes over. Some older guys in a boat pulled up and started vibing us and dared us to swim under the bridge, said they would get us high. I stood on the rail and plopped in, turned around and began to swim towards the light on the other side, noticing large shadows of what I imagine were fish, I swam as fast as I could and popped up on the other side. Needless to say, they older guys were stunned and indeed they got us high and themselves too, as they attempted to speed away in their boat, upstream, they reached the end of their anchor line they had forgotten to pull up with a large whomp sound as the boat pitched forward almost expelling them! My buddy and I were laughing our butts off as we began our lifted bike ride back to Citrus Heights….I miss you Nor Cal. Rocklin/Roseville/Citrus Heights/Folsom
