  • Hi Paul. I used to live in Enfield when all this was going on. I bought the book and was reading it one afternoon, when from nowhere I heard a load crash. After investigating a very large picture on my hall wall had crashed to the floor. The picture hook was not broken and the walls fixing was still in place. It scared the life out of me and have always believed there was something going on. Thank-you for your article,it has bought back many memories.

  • I was twenty and living in London when the Enfield Haunting took place. It was a huge story in most of the newspapers at the time. I’ve always kept an open mind about these things, but i do believe this was genuine. I read here that nothing happens in the house now, because old Bill has finally moved on years ago. Like when my stepdad died suddenly at only 66. For two years he made his presence known in the house with quite bizarre paranormal activity. We were told by a medium, because he had a sudden death and a shock to him, he comes back on visitation to check on things. He wasn’t grounded in our house he would come and go. It was two years before he departed for good at least we know he is now at rest. Same with old Bill with the Enfield Haunting, it just took time for him to except he had departed this world and has finally gone. The Enfield house like mine is no longer haunted. But at the time was freaky to say the least. I do go on don’t I? 😅 cheers all 🥂 enjoyable article thank you.

  • Many years ago for a short time I went out with a girl who lived very close to the “haunted house”- we see her house very clearly at around the 5 minute mark. She was truly horrible so I would not be at all surprised if it was her that the “evil spirits” were attracted to.Hopefully later in life she became cured of her anger issues and became a better person than she was when I knew her.

  • I’ve just found your website and watched pretty much all your articles. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being so respectful especially with the Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman case and the moors murders victims.. Most people want to glorify the crimes but you honestly did the victims and their families the upmost respect in these articles. You’re a good soul. I can just see it. Lynds xxx❤❤❤

  • Paul, there is one photo on this article which maybe of interest to you. There is a photo of a man with a very confused and worried look on his face and he had very good reason to be (13:10). His name is John Burcombe and he is Janet’s uncle. He found Janet sleeping on top of a radio set, but there is more to this photo than meets the eye. The night before that photo was taken, Janet was given a Valium injection by her doctor and place in her bed. So here is my question to everyone out there including you Paul. How did Janet end up on top of the radio set? Although Janet was sleeping in the same room as her sister, even she wouldn’t have had the strength to place her on that radio set, that is why part of me is convinced that some of what happened during the Enfield Poltergeist case is genuine. on a side note. I love the t shirt of The Crow, it’s one of my favourite movies.

  • Everything was true about the case and much more. I was privy to spend a weekend at Stanstead Hall, psychic college where one of the guests giving a lecture was Maurice Grosse. He supplied us with many recordings and photographs from the case. Many of which were never made public.A very honest and sincere man if ever there was one. Janet, actually lives in the town I live at now and I have met her. To this day there are things that still torment her. I am a total believer

  • Thanks Paul for taking us around the graveyard and also seeing the house. I’ve never seen it before. I do remember vaguely it all happening in the 70s. I was sceptical about it and still am now. The story will go on and I’m sure we’ll never really know what the truth is. Great Halloween investigation. 👍

  • Hi, Paul . Thanks for this,Halloween Special . It puts me in mind of the tale of, George and Kathy Lutz . When we consider how many people have passed away since, well, whenever . We must be surrounded by thousands of spirits . But, saying that, over the last twenty years, I have lost several family members, Most recently my Wife . Pretty sure that I have heard her, and smelled, not hers but her Nan’s perfume . I believe they will look for us in some way, rather than the other way around . They say that, the veil is thin and only they can cross it . Maybe we will find out when we get there . Have a great Halloween, Paul . Keep it spooky .

  • My friend lives in Enfield and knows the people who live in the house now. They told her if there was a poltergeist/haunting back in the 70’s then it’s gone now as it was connected with that particular family. They get a lot of strangers knocking on their front door and asking about it. One being Jonathan Ross’s wife who wanted to “get the vibe”.

  • Awesome article Paul, there’s no way those girls, there mother and the policewomen made that happen, it’s a well know fact that if you die in your home and your not ready to cross over, the spirit of that person can still be in that house. The necophonic app never lies, one of the girls is still haunted by it now. Please could you do more of these articles, I love them, I believe…….., RIP to Margaret (Peggy ) 💐💐💐💐,and to Bill and his wife, may they RIP together forever 💐💐💐💐, Thank you so much Paul, brilliant ✌️🤟🏼👍🥰

  • Maurice had lost his daughter in a car accident. I think this fact was a driving factor to finding out more about the possibility of life after death. I also think that even if he doubted the evidence that he had recorded, he would likely have considered the beneficial nature of his work for people in a similar situation to himself that had lost loved ones in an untimely manner. Above all though, it’s a brilliant story

  • I moved to Brimsdown in 2020 I used to walk past the house all the time and find something eerie about it they used to have a sticker in the window that said Jesus house which would draw me to look at it and I always found it odd and I can’t describe that feeling almost like a chill would go over me and I’d feel uncomfortable I’m not superstitious but there was definitely a feeling I’d get when I walked past that bothered me. One day I googled the school to join a group for my children and saw it was the famous Enfield haunting house the shock on my face and I can never look at the house the same way! They’ve taken down the sticker now I believe a new family moved in recently but it has always bothered me it’s made me now believe the paranormal is likely when I was certainly a critic before!

  • Hi paul thanks so much for sharing this peggy and her family 4 children and bill wilkins passed away in the chair in the corner of the front room ov a brain hemmorage janet Hodgson lived near my mum and grandma 👵 and edd and lorraine warren came over to investigate the case and Maurice grosse question janet and Margaret about it all its a very interesting case x❤❤❤

  • First things First I’m 67 I have seen some fantastic players teams and yes trophies in my life. Levy and Co have made massive mistakes in there choice of managers I really couldn’t see ANY X Chelsky manager doing well at the Lane. To attract TOP players to Tottenham we need to be in the Championship league. I truly believe we are NOW going in the right direction. The last few years the football has been DREADFUL so much better now. And the thing about Ange is he is a gentleman a fans/people person . COYS

  • I saw this story on an episode of ‘Strange But True’ back in the 90s. It’s actually here on YouTube, along with a few other episodes of the show, I found it earlier this year. I don’t know whether to believe in it or not, but it’s a very interesting case and makes a good story for Halloween. It also seems to be the main inspiration for Ghostwatch.

  • I can’t say I’ve ever heard of the Enfield Haunting so I’ve saved a few docos I found on here. I have never felt so tense waiting to see if any spirits answered you! Would like to see you do more articles like this Paul, very interesting, can you imagine how many spirits there must be in every graveyard you visit? 😱

  • Bloody Brilliant Paul, the Halloween intro was awesomely put together, and the whole episode was Great perusal…Sorry im late on this, as we spent Halloween in Ireland, and after perusal your episode on Gary Moores grave, to which we visited in the Summer, and so therefore in Ireland we visited Phil Lynotts Grave too, where now his Mother is also resting….

  • Great article and thank you for being the only person I’ve seen do a paranormal investigation during the day. So many just believe ghosts only come out at night. It makes a joke of trying to find the truth. I’ve watched and read many accounts of the Enfield haunting, I believe the family, but don’t necessarily believe it was Bill. Ed and Lorraine Warren have been involved with a lot of debunked stories, but it makes me wonder I’d that’s what the powers that be want you to believe. They were staunch catholics yet the Catholic Church despised their work. Thanks again for a great article!

  • Thank you for an amazing article, I believe in the paranormal as I have personally had experiences that cannot be explained. I have watched documentaries regarding the Enfield house and believe that there are events that cannot be explained but really did happen. I believe people can be attached to a home or place after death, for some that place might of been their sanctuary when they were alive maybe Bill felt that the family were unwanted guests. It would be interesting to know if the current residents have any unusual stories to tell👻👻👻

  • I lived in Enfield for 18 years, I mean I’m only 24 so wasn’t around for this but I still find it fascinating and it’s cool to have history like this. I did back in 2017 on lunch break with my friends go to the house and it said Jesus’s house on the window so they must have removed it, I went to Enfield college which is nearby. 16:03 that’s my college in the back haha sorry so much nostalgia rn

  • Great article Paul, I personally think that the family were pulling a fast one with this one. I am a very open minded skeptic, when it comes to the paranormal. I have also read a lot about this particular case and the little fact you pointed out about the girls listening in on conversations with the neighbours about the previous occupant Bill Wilkins is probably one of the biggest factors in the whole apparent haunting. The only part of this haunting that i find possibly interesting is the movement of the furniture apparently witnessed by a police officer. Its an interesting one but unfortunately I’m pretty sure this one was faked.

  • Hi Paul! Brilliantly presented as always, and something that will always intrigue and fascinate people interested in the paranormal. I’ve seen episodes where groups have rented the house to try and film any responses/activities, so imagine it’s going to go on for years, but like the story of Borley Rectory, until the building no longer exists! Looking at the ages of the girls, nobody is mentioning puberty, and how “things” can happen in these rare instances when some girls reach that stage in their lives. It doesn’t last for ever, and I don’t know how much research has actually been done regarding this aspect. The girls don’t appear to be very mature to me, but hard to tell. I imagine Bill is getting more visitors now than when he was alive poor chap! Lol…Still it makes a good story just before Halloween! Well done!🙋‍♀️😘😘🦋🦉

  • “Bill” claimed he’d lived in the house more than 50 years beforehand. In reality he actually died in 1963 (so 14 years or so) and those houses just aren’t old enough to have been 50+ years old in the 1970s. They’re more like the 1930s, or late 1940s post-war (would they have been building new houses during the war?). Perhaps the council keeps that kind of record and we could know when they were built. In another recording, Bill also claimed that he’d died of a haemorrhage. That term tends to be associated with the brain. The death certificate has coronary thrombosis, which is a form of heart attack and doesn’t involve haemorrhage at all. It’s interesting that he got his own details wrong. Almost as if the girls had somehow heard the name and made the rest of it up, because they didn’t have access to the official records held by the council. It doesn’t seem like anyone actually validated that and were just desperate to be proven right. Bill and Ethel Wilkins were parents and there are fresh flowers on the grave. My guess is they had a child (or children plural) who would now be possibly quite elderly.

  • I always keep an open mind. Never say never. Another well done article. Poltergeist are crafty ha ha.Have you ever read about the Thornton Road Birmingham Poltergeist?. There’s a article on YouTube. It was covered by Arthur C Clarke. Kicked off in 1981. It went on for a couple of years. They never got to the bottom of it. I used to live right by where it was. It was the talk everywhere. Give it a look if you can. Well done Paul.

  • Loving this, thank you for sharing your journeys. I don’t know much about the spiritual side of things, only the word poltergeist is German for noisy ghost. I watched a documentary about poltergeist and I am a bit confused. They said that poltergeist hauntings are related to an individual not the houses so if Bill is haunting the house then does that mean the house is haunted by him,I don’t know it doesn’t take much to confuse me 🤪

  • Excellent article Paul as usual 🙂 After my mum passed away in 2002 we used to get plenty of visits from her and i think it was because she was very close to my wife they were best friends practically joined at the hip my mum knew she didn’t have long to live cos she was diagnosed with Huntington’s disease so they spent a very lot of time with each other and when she used to come to our house she would drink coffee like it was running out and lots of it but when she died for about 3 or so years after we used to get strange things happening which was worrying at the time so i just asked out who is here in our house and said is it you mum and from out of nowhere about 3 days later me and my wife were sat in living room and all of a sudden the kettle turned its self on and the coffee jar had moved to the cup holder and the fridge door opened so i thought kettle coffee and milk from the fridge it has to be you mum and i 100% believe it was her cos my wife had a dream that night about her and she said in her dream mum said she has been here lots of times drinking coffee with us which is now very comforting to us even though its been a long time since she last let us know she’s still here with us Rip mum x

  • Read ‘ This House is Haunted’ by Guy Lyon Playfair. He was a very experienced investigator present for the whole haunting. His book is thorough and fair with no agenda to prove or disprove. His conclusion was the house was definitely haunted and he proves why very thoroughly. Thank you for an excellent film. 🎃

  • Normally I’m a sceptic with all things supposedly paranormal, but this is the strangest, damnedest case I’ve ever come across. I’ve no doubt the girls were behind some of the so-called activity, but how do we explain the flipping of a sofa in front of independent witnesses? Can we rule out telekinesis? The ability to move objects with the power of the mind? Sounds implausible, but perhaps more believable than ghosts, spirits or poltergeist.

  • I’m from Haringey originally, but grew up in Enfield… and the ‘Green Street Ghost’ as we called it was a big deal to all the local kids and teenagers. So much so, that even in the mid 90’s, we used to go and ‘hang out down Green Street’ to see if we could see any activity at no 284. At the time, we had no idea that Peggy Hodgeson was still living there… it must have been a nightmare for her having all these rat-bag teens loitering around outside of her property. With a now adult view on this, I genuinely feel bad that my friends and myself at the time thought it was funny to ‘check the place out’. As I understand, Peggy spent the rest of her life at 284 until her passing in 2004.

  • It is my belief that in certain situations when a person dies what we refer to as their spirt, the brain energy, which controls an otherwise inert body, the control centre, can’t enter a dimension which allows for the transition of their spirt into new human life allowing for the continuation and development of that spirt in another body, in affect the spirt never dies. What are often hoaxes in many cases are created to draw attention to certain people, however there are a few cases which truly can’t be explained, these, as I suggest, are the spirts trapped outside the rebirth dimension.

  • I really enjoyed your wonderful investigation Paul, so interesting, I really enjoyed it, I would love to go on a full investigation, and find equipment for tracking spirit’s, it’s always one thing Ive wanted to do!! They is something their but I can’t decide what it is 🤔 Many Thanks as always Rod, have a great Samhain 🎃🧟👻👻🧌

  • Hi Great and interesting vid. Seen so many programmes about this. Just watched a series on Apple TV called the Enfield poltergeist. They say and show anything that you haven’t already heard. I remember there was an Enfield haunting programme with Timothy spall in it. My theory was that bill died in the armchair in the Enfield house and the girls played on it. Keep up the great work you do.

  • While that was going on at that home there was a other house that was haunted by two irish guys who lived next door to the house they would watch the tenants and the children and push people in the house and make them trip up, or rock them while trying to sleep a tray of 6 mugs floated as someone tripped and the tray of tea landed gently to the floor of the landing the usual knocks and talking and heavy breathing down your ear and taps on the window and perusal the tv. It still goes on at that house . minstead road in erdington birmingham b24 i will not say the number, but if you walk up the road on to the straight from the hill you will notice it on the left before you get to the island at the top of the road

  • Hi Paul brilliant Halloween special I remember this case as I was 20 and it was all over the papers at the time They did a three part tv series a few years back with Timothy Spall playing Maurice Gross Im not sure what I believe about the case The waters are muddied by the girls admitting they faked certain things but I dont believe a teenage girl was capable of doing the deep voice of a man over sixty Also he swore a lot using the f word regularly which back in the seventies you rarely heard girls use My Mum who passed away last year aged 90 regularly saw spirits she claimed I personally never have but am intrigued by the possibility Would like to see more of these type of things on your You Tube website Paul Oh and my new girlfriend who is from Essex says would you like to do Borley Rectory the most haunted place in Britain (supposedly) She only lives about ten miles from it I dont think they will let anyone in their from what I have read Anyway this was one of your best Paul thoroughly enjoyed it keep up the good work

  • Funnily enough Paul I was asking you on your live about 2 weeks ago about Bill Wilkin’s grave and the Enfield haunting. Great job Paul 👍 just it’s such ashame the house is a cash cow and the owners make a fortune letting people investigate it. I saw Bill’s grave about 2 weeks ago with some Italian investigators on their website called PIT. You got to remember back then people were extremely skeptic. I was laughing however when you put the app on.. I guess the spirit had one foot in the grave 😂

  • This was an EXCELLENT article! I do tend to believe this case is absolutely genuine. However there are some unanswerable questions. I.e the voice captured on tape states he died of a brain hemorrhage. On his death certificate it says coronary thrombosis ( heart attack). The ghost also said he was 72 years old, but the death certificate confirms he died at 61 years old. Even if he was talking at that time, it still wouldn’t add to 72 years old. I also find it strange the neighbours didn’t say to Peggy, upon hearing the tape something along the lines of ” that’s Bill who lived next door. Only years later did Bills son Terry confirm this. Why ??

  • Bills son, listened to the recording of he’s father,& he said on film that it’s he’s dads voice,& all the information about he’s illness & how he died was true,he did die in the chair,& so did Peggy, years later. The police officer saw the chair move, she checked if the was any visible wires attached, their wasn’t,many people watched furniture move,I just don’t believe that the girls were capable of hoaxing it,So I’m a believer.

  • Sorry to hear about your wife. And just to say my father passed away in September about 14 months ago in Basingstoke hospital and a few months after that I needed to know some information about my partner if she has cheated on me or not but anyway I was outside my workplace in Alton at approximately 2:50 am in my car so I thought I will see if I can contact my dad to get the answers so I recorded on a digital record and I asked my dad and God to please give me a message but please bear in mind this was in a middle in a private car park I was the only person in the car park so I began my recording for about the 7 minutes and on playback I heard two voices the first one I did not recognise what my name but the second voice was my father only saying the word no but I did ask did she cheats on me yes or no but amazingly my dad’s voice said no . Two days later I got my two sons to listen to the recording without me telling them who it was they both said the second voice was grandad . Anyway sorry for waffling 🥱💯🇬🇧🇯🇲👍

  • You could be suffering from gravestone blindness, a condition afflicting You tubers who makes films about graves. Really interesting take on this, I don’t believe we find anything but an empty shell in a grave, if a soul is haunting it will be at a relevant place. Excellent investigation, enjoyed it as always.

  • Very interesting article, I’m on the fence with this, it could be genuine, but the kids over exaggerated some of it? I never believed in the after life and ghosts until flying on one of The L10-Tristars which carried parts of flight 401. Crew were even warned by British Airways that if they repeated or told of sudden cold temperature drops and shadowy movements you would loss your job. The ghost of flight 401 has never been fully explained. A great article Paul, a lot to think about, many thanks

  • What a absolute treat Paul. thank you. The added animation made me jump twice and the scream ha ha. Crafty, i personally think the Enfield Hauntings are untrue. My thought the girls knew that mum was struggling for money and they came up with a plan. If im thinking right the family did not make the money. Another thought why has no paranormal team been into the house since? 30 East Drive people are there weekly. I do paranormal investigations, my own opinion i will not use any of the apps on a phone. It listens to what you are asking and adds a answer.. I look forward to the next one Paul .

  • When I went to visit the home they had a sticker in the window saying “Jesus house” I went to look for Bills grave we had a quick drive around and I just said I need to get out here and his grave was right there, I spoke to him and thanked him but didn’t do an evp as had left it in the car wish I had now

  • Great article Paul! The people living in that house must get upset by people taking selfies outside their home. Interesting story, l don’t believe it happened quite the way they said, I do think things can be exaggerated as the story gets re-told over and again, the family with all due respect, believed it happened to them and we have to except it as true.

  • The problem is if they were caught bending spoons and what have you, its really dead in the water isnt it ! And like you said they could have found out about this bill dying in the house. ? Nice one paul. go back at night mate, that would be interesting, bill could be on nights and is resting during the day. 🙂

  • Hi Paul. Just watched this back. Didn’t hear much of anything, until the end. I heard what sounded like a girls voice, but it sounded like it was on one of the apps you use. I heard it twice. Once at 42:26, and again at 42:47. Have a listen, and see what you think..xxx Brilliiant vid, as always. Thanks Paul..xx

  • Wow that was a interesting article I do believe in this sort of thing & I like to think it was true That it really did happen but I’ll guess we’ll never know Think the only way is to visit in side the house & spend some time good … a film to watch is ( when the lights go out ) Hope to see you do more paranormal investigator totally enjoyed it cheers x

  • Around 42:27 it does indeed sound like a child saying “Help Me” I had to replay it a few times to hear clearly on listening through headphones, I do think that spirit does reside on passing I lived in a house over a 100 years old an old rail workers cottage I saw & heard things that I cannot logically explain to this day

  • No it’s not all in our minds, I had a entity of damien (the child) from the omen films in my finding room, one night at 3am 3.04am to be precise, no word of a lie, literally a child standing as large as life like a normal human, staring at me with a sinister smirk/grin on his face, wearing a flat cap, crisp white shirt with ruffles, blazer, tweed shorts, white socks and black shiny patent shoes … scared the life out of me …. We had to get the church involved, who contact the bishop who after all we said and showed we were going through, contacted others within the specialist church … So no it’s not all in our minds, it’s real

  • It’s a very interesting article, and I have an open mind, I like how you tell both sides of the story about the alleged haunting and the alleged pranks played by the girls. Although trying to contact Bill, whose rest in consecrated ground, I don’t think would work because of it actually being hallowed ground all things “Holy”. I never associated cemeteries with spirits, and to be honest, the last place you will find is’un-restful’ spirits. I find cemeteries peaceful (especially that one for Caroline Flack)..

  • I remember the conjuring films on this as I like paranormal things like most haunted who I follow 20 odd years now ed and Lorraine Warren such nice people and Patrick and Vera who played them met Lorraine not ed though he had passed already but their son in law Tony spera took over the looking after the Warren museum

  • Actually …The last place a spirit would be is in a graveyard? For what reason would they be?? Envariably, they have to be websiteed through a spiritualist medium? 🙂 Spirits only haunt a place if there was an injustice of trauma and /or they simply cannot pass over due to unresolved issues and / or an attachment to the material realm for some other reason / another??

  • You probably need to speak to the ouija brothers, apparently the haunting is still going on. They were due to do an investigation but the current tenants of the house pulled out at the last minute as they didn’t want the publicity from the ouija brothers YouTube article. They did a preliminary visit to the house and interviewed the occupants

  • I do believe he could have still been there but i don’t believe he did a lot of that stuff being in that house he would have probably had happy memories then after he died his wife moved away that was probably his happy place and maybe he got a bit grumpy when people bugged him it was his house and he probably wondered why these people with noisy kids were in his house well that’s how i see things

  • Playfair’s comments on the Warrens, plus Lorraine Warren’s silly and doddery recollections for the Special Features on the Conjuring 2 DVD, are enough to discredit those two ( look for Guy Playfair interviews on You Tube to hear what he said). Gross and Playfair would not have hung around if it was all a hoax, they were not fools. It was probably a combination of truth and deceit. I say this because in much more recent times, there was a man up north in England, on You Tube, calling himself The Most Haunted Man In England. I used to watch his articles regularly. Anyway, destiny would put me in a room with this man’s brother ( who featured in an important article on the haunting )having a heart to heart and drinking wine. He told me,quite assertively, the original events of the haunting of his brothers house was true and frightening, but ultimately descended into dishonesty and hoax. I reckon the same for Enfield.

  • Really enjoyed that, Paul👍. One of your best yet but, have to say, if the Warren’s say it’s real you know it’s fake. Poltergeists aren’t ghosts, they’ve never lived and are pure energy. The activity is short lived, not years, and then there’s the girls confessions. None of it stacks up. So it’s a 👍for the vid, and a 👎for the haunting…soz, mate🙏

  • l,m sitting on the fence with this story paul l wouldn’t say it was fake l just don’t know l,ve seen many things about the enfield haunting’s l,d love to believe it you were respectful of the house were other people live now the grave side investigation was interesting what you got on the app and voice you got happy halloween 👻🎃

  • An interesting subject ? But I think the whole thing was due to hysteria spread by the kids at the time. I am not convinced there was anything paranormal. A good friend of mine lived in a similar house with a large family and we used to convince ourselves it was haunted. Looking back it was an old house next to a main road, most noises could be explained rationally, and we just played along with it.

  • Just to Give Clarity Peggy was Not a Single Mother She Had All Her Children for Her Then Husband . The Children Said the Haunting and the Events All Happened But as Children Who Were Rightly Bored of All These Older People been in That House for All Day and Night Some 24 / 7 and The Kids Would Play Pranks on Them as Any Children Would Do .

  • Interesting article. I didn’t quite catch all the gravestone details. I’m very interested in genealogy. The findagrave website and the people tracing Bill’s family tree all have his date of birth as 23rd Nov 1901 and there is no reason to believe that isn’t the case but on the 1939 register he is living at the said address with his wife Ethel nee Judson. He is a storekeeper electric lamps and an a.r.p warden. The strange this is his date of birth is clearly stated 31st Oct 1901 so Halloween!! The halloween birth date and being an expert in electric lamps jumps out at me ha ha. He was born in Totnes, Devon. The next door neighbours were the same in 1939 as well Victor Nottingham who was a child. He reported the knockings to the police when it first kicked off. Can anyone confirm Bill’s date of birth? Seems like a hoax to me. Interesting equipment you have.

  • It is one of those situations where an individual would have to be there an experience it for their self before anyone could honestly say whether it’s a hoax or not.of course every one has a right to their opinion but despite of the opinion that it’s. A hoax or not you would just have to have been there because there are no experts none of us are much love ❤️

  • I believe in ghosts ive seen a face of a ghost,a girl screamed + ran out of toilets,(which was an old brick building) i ran over 2 toilets,girl came out & said ghost in there,i went in 2 see,nothing,girl said,look in the toilet,which i did,was 3rd toilet,saw a face of someone,thats wen i believed in ghosts.

  • This is terrifying, I live on a 101 acre farm where a little girl was rumored to be murdered at in the 1960s. When I’m out walking alone with no noice I’ll get a very uneasy feeling and I’ll hear a little girl scream. The first time I heard the scream I saw a figure in the corner of my eye for a brief second I’m not sure if my mind was playing tricks on me or not. Immediately after a stick come shooting at my head. I still hear the screams when I’m alone or it’ll play in my mind

  • For 5 yrs of my life, I lived in a small house that a man built for himself back in the 30s. The moment I walked in that place, I felt something that never went away. Strange and really scary things happened in that house that I had to face down if I was going to live there. So much that can’t be explained, but always the overwhelming feeling that I was being watched. I may have lived there by myself, but I was never alone in that house.

  • I’ve been waiting impatiently for an upload but it was definitely worth the wait. The story is new to me which is very refreshing considering it’s getting harder for me to find something I don’t already know about. And your articles are so clean and professional and your voice and pace are perfect. You’ve become one of my favourite websites. Thank you for the upload

  • My mates cat used to ‘speak’. It could meow in a way that really mimicked human speech; it was quite odd. I was there by myself one day to feed the cat whilst they were away and heard ‘hello?’ Being called down the stairs, I damned near shat myself it made me jump so much. Nobody home, just the cat. I mentioned it to him and he told me it was one of her tricks; she was also capable of saying ‘MaMa’ and what sounded like ‘bye’.

  • I hate when children are berated for how they act during an event like this, kids cant process whats going on the same way we do so they dont react properly. Its like bringing a kid to a funeral or any other sad event, they don’t fully understand the weight of whats going on and will feel the need for attention with all the people around and the sad atmosphere. Demanding attention is another way for a child to cope with whats going on, and a child will perform a negative action if it garuntees attention, especially a child who feels neglected during a period of trauma. I’m no child psychiatrist but I’ve raised plenty of siblings and nephews/nieces and I’ve experienced the way they react to events like a supposed haunting or traumatic event, children want attention and sometimes they dont know how to convey that without seeming disrespectful or in the case of the supernatural repeating an event that recieved attention. Anyways sorry for the rant, great article!

  • I remember this I grew up in the next town over in Stratford my uncle was a Bridgeport police officer at the time. Anyway remember my aunt giving him a crucifix and the rosary where around his neck now remember them talking about the cat that talked thank you for sharing this article it has brought back actually good memories of my aunt and uncle.

  • This case is crazy! The fact that so many people bore witness to it makes it all the more unsettling.. it’s a shame that little Marcia was blamed for the entire thing. And the fact that they couldn’t even escape that house is awful. I can’t imagine how difficult that must’ve been for them. They very likely did keep experiencing things but didn’t want any more attention drawn to them. I want to check that book out now.. I’d love to read all the accounts from the police, firemen and other public figures who were involved. I had surprisingly never heard of this case before now.. you did an excellent job narrating it and putting it together. You definitely had me on the edge of my seat many times. Great work!✨

  • Hello again, I’m thrilled to see a new article on this subject. So sad that they lost their son. It’s devastating to grieve for a child. Marcia was great, but no-one can make up for the lost child. Mrs. Goodin had such tight control over her, I’m not surprised that she manifested poltergeist type activity. Psychokinesis is a real phenomenon. A child who was smothered in rules may lash out unconsciously. Later, Marcia figured out that she was getting a lot more attention, so she began trying to imitate the activity eventually leading to the accusations of a hoax. The activities started slow and escalated into a circus. Because of the shear number of witnesses, credible witnesses who reported seeing the levitations of large objects and damaging objects flying around or being thrown, I can’t discount all the evidence as a hoax. The theory of the child’s grandfather being the most likely culprit is certainly possible. An angry and powerful spirit. The indigenous people are very spiritual and their beliefs were not taken into account by the people involved. Disrespect is not an option for them. Also, they would not be affected by religious beliefs of the Goodin family. To them it had to be a demonic infestation. I think the Warrens only exacerbated the situation by making it more of a media circus. Regardless, they didn’t make any noticeable difference in the case. The ultimate fate of this family is not really known. Every police officer, priest, neighbor or media member who was there to witness the incident will have to rationalize their experiences and decide whether they believe their own eyes.

  • Paul Eno is my dad (he actually passed away a few weeks ago), what happened to him at that house changed his life forever and his theories of the paranormal. Side note, that prayer book was an Orthodox prayer book half in English and half in Cyrillic. The reporter that took that picture thought it was written in sanscrit, according to my dad anyway. Great job!

  • I remember this story. I like that some of the police were willing to admit what they saw was unexplainable. Thank you for these haunted house stories. Can’t wait for more. There was a story on Art Bell Ghost to Ghost January 2005. A guy called Art to tell him about his house being haunted. It was titled Entity Attack. I found it on Youtube. It was so good Art had the guy call the next night so he could tell his story.

  • I think your website is better than all websites that I’ve listened to, that tell the stories! There are a couple websites that have a couple million subscribers and I believe if they heard your story telling, they would most certainly subscribe to your website also! I’m going to share your website as much as possible because you definitely deserve the subscribers because you are that talented!!

  • A really interesting story that I personally have never heard of. I really wonder how much of it is actually true and not blown out of proportion over the years. Not saying that I think all of the people were lying, for that, I experienced too much on my own that I can’t scientifically explain, however, I am also aware that stories tend to get warped given enough time. Besides that, excellent article. The amount of work that must have gone into the research alone is extreme, and putting it into a full on documentary of this quality is outstanding. I like that, even though you add ambient music in the background, you don’t add extra sound effects on top of it to make it more “spooky” and your narration doesn’t sound dramatic (as too many other YouTubers does), which I highly appreciate.

  • I’d never heard of this case, so thank you so much for such a deep dive. I agree with the investigators’ conclusion: the girl could’ve been the origin of the poltergeist, born of her unhappiness. They say that once these things gather enough energy, they have a “life” of their own, feeding on any negativity around. And the Goodin’s trauma after their child’s death most likely permeated the place with plenty of bad vibes for the poltergeist to feed on. As for the Warrens, I think they started off their careers with the best of intentions, but once it became their business, it all went south.

  • When you said “SULFUR”, I already knew, it couldn’t be a Spirit or a Poltergeist. I knew it was a DEMON! Noobs, all of them! My years-long experience of perusal Sam and Dean cruisin’ around the country saving people and hunting things, has provided me with an incredible knowledge of the Supernatural! Great content, sir 😀 you got yourself a new subscriber!

  • Of all the ‘Bridgewater Triangle’ stories I have watched or heard on YT, this is the first one I have come across with an actual event or events. I’ve searched it. They all tell about the ‘triangle’ and offer some generalizations, but, no actual incidents are offered. There may well be incidents posted, but, not as specifically within the ‘triangle.’ So, kudos! And, thank you!

  • Our home WAS truly haunted and it was very well known, so of course as teenagers we`d play jokes on people who came over to see the place. I was in a band and my parents would go to our fishing camp and we`d have big parties. One thing you didn`t DARE do was challenge whatever was there, or do like our bass player or my friend Joel I met in high school, and say there was nothing there or “no such thing as ghosts.” Joel said that and the floating, glowing, evil looking beachball sized head appeared to him. I`ve seen it too. Joel described it as an “evil pumpkin head.” Our bass player Jay was in my room writing down song lyrics and the old closet full of my mom`s heavy 1950s nursing shoes flew open, and about 20 pairs of shoes hit him in the chest. He followed me around like a puppy afterward,. and I`d be walking, remember something, stop to turn around, and run into Jay. So I told him he should apologize for what he`d said…and this is hilarious but true…he walked into my room and over to the closet with his head bowed and meekly said, “I`m sorry Mr Ghost.” LOL!! I`ve seen others get attacked too for disrespecting these things, whatever they are. If activity happens I`ve discovered it`s best to acknowledge it, and ask whatever it is to please be nice and stop scaring people. Usually anything that happens after this is harmless like pranks.

  • I’ve had small paranormal activity after my grandpa Jim died when I was a baby all the way until his ashes were moved when I was 6 My parents would say my door would open a crack and they would see the rocking cradle they used to help me sleep moving on its own, I’m glad I had a positive experience rather than a negative one.

  • I grew up about a mile from where this incident took place and was a freshman in high school at the time. I was fascinated with ghost stories and the occult all my life, and my mom threatened me with being grounded for life if I went to the house while all this was taking place. I argued with her but was secretly terrified to go so I didn’t. When I drive by this house now, it’s just a tiny bungalow that looks very innocent. I marvel at how you would never look twice at this house but all those years ago how different it was! This was a great story. I also read Bill Hall’s book on this subject, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know more about the Bridgeport Poltergeist.

  • I feel for Marcia, her reactions throughout sound a lot like the reactions of people who experience multiple, prolonged traumas (CPTSD). She came from a home that would have likely been traumatic for her, where she might have begun disassociating for her own survival, then being in this house – regardles of whether it was actually haunted or not – being surounded by people and having her life on display with at least some degree of weird things happening around her only reigniting and reenforcing her colapse response. Things like her seeming to not notice or care about events aren’t unusual for someone in a traumatic situation, particularly if they’ve been previously traumatised. Then going on to “pretend” she didn’t remember it, could have been her genuinely not remembering it as memory loss is both a sympom of CPTSD, but if she was disassociated, any time she spent in that state would be time spent not creating memories at all. Even if there was nothing paranormal going on, she would have certainly been suffering.

  • This is up the hill from my house almost across from a pizza shop further back from du Vincent’s hospital and down the streets from elementary school and down the hill from pond st. I pass this little house a lot often wondering about these claims of a talking cat and floating furniture. It’s still there to this day.

  • Edit: After having finished the article, I see that the creator also read the book lol I got most of my “theories” from a book called The World’s Most Haunted House. It’s important to note that because Laura was so over protective that Marcia came to hate her. Anger/hate/fear give the entity more power. As does tragedy since it causes strong negative emotions. I also think something may have followed them from the cemetery and the turmoil stirred up inside the home welcomed more evil inside. One last thing! Don’t ever open a door if no one is in the other side as that welcomes the entity into your home. Maybe they didn’t have a peep hole. Idk.

  • I really enjoyed this article. The family certainly experienced so much sadness and loss. I believe that maybe the young girl was responsible for some things, but surely not all. Still find it hard to believe that there is no photos or footage. The Warren’s started to want more publicity and calling up media was step too far. Certainly makes you think. Another great article 😊😊

  • Hey, my friend, thank you for another great story! Have you thought about ever teaming up with the guys over at Bedtime Stories? I think Mr. Ballen did so. The only reason I ask is they may help get word out about your incredible website, which is my top favorite, tied with Bedtime Stories. I can’t praise your talented storytelling and creative abilities enough! Greetings from the USA.

  • wow i can’t believe i’ve never heard of this one before! what a wild and sad case, and you told it very well. if the cat was indeed talking, or voices were coming from the cat, this would easily fall in line with the story of gef the talking mongoose, or the talking stove of zaragoza (which are two of my favorite poltergeist cases, and i would love to see you cover them!)

  • I find Marcia’s mention of her deceased grandfather being angry at her adoption and move from Canada to the U.S. to be the most interesting part of this case! I can’t help but wonder what might’ve happened differently if indigenous Canadian spiritual leaders had been invited to observe and offer their expertise

  • This was a brilliantly done article about this case I have never heard of. Very creepy indeed. Some of it may have been the girl, but no 10-year-old girl is sliding and picking up refrigerators lol. This story also reminds me heavily of the Moreno Valley poltergeist. I would recommend you look into that one if you haven’t already. That one was pretty freaky. The show Paranormal Witness actually covered that case.

  • I had ghost once, at the very darkest time of my life! I learned they like dark spaces in your house, partiularly the bathroom for some reason. Something to do with water. I ultimatley had to leave every light in the house on for 2 weeks, 24/7 and change my thoughts, hence my dark emos and always play happy music to make them go away….They like Dark places!

  • I enjoyed perusal this documentary very much. I agree that a child cannot lift a sofa or fridge by itself. It was witnessed and documented officially by the authorities in Bridgeport just like in Enfield the town where i live (i am perusal the Sally House documentary next). For those of us that have experienced similar phenomena such as seeing horned entities like in Bridgeport and other manifestaions collectively with other people know this is true and we didn’t imagine it. These things do happen.

  • Certainly curious as to whether the house have no history of haunting? or a poltergeist? or was it the family’s current emotional state that attracted that kind of energy in? Great article as per usual! It requires lots of effort to create such in depth, well-researched and visually appealing articles. Cool voice/narration as well! Already looking forward to the next one <3
