After college, the Yerke family took over running Yerke Frog Alley Greenhouses and built a new Garden Center in 1987. After selling it in 2005, they returned to the farm in Mukwonago, WI. The fifth-generation family business has been supplying backyard growers in southeastern Wisconsin for 70 years with only the highest quality plants selected and grown. The first greenhouse was built in 1954, and the fifth-generation family business is celebrating its 64th anniversary.
The Yerke family is proud to be a Wisconsin Sesquicentennial Farm, selecting and growing naturally grown herb and vegetable plants. As of Spring 2006, the family has returned to growing and selling their plants. The farm is located at S79W28995 Frog Alley Rd, Mukwonago, WI 53149. The family will be shifting their business from a garden center on Highway 83 to the farm, primarily raising annuals and perennials.
The Yerke family has been growing plants for six generations at their Sesquicentennial farm in the Town of Mukwonago. They grow over 300 varieties of natural plants and have been busy all spring growing your favorite varieties. The family is not BBB accredited, but the farm is open at 8:30 AM.
