Which Tip Do You Apply When Creating Sunflowers?

In this video, Meg and Amy demonstrate how to make buttercream sunflowers, which look adorable topped on top of a cake or cupcake. They use the Wilton 366 piping tip and three separate piping bags to create the sunflowers. The first step involves inserting the piping tips into the bags, filling the large leaf piping tip with yellow buttercream, and the other two smaller piping tips with the other two colors.

The tutorial covers the process of gathering materials, shaping and assembling the petals, and growing the sunflowers. The video also discusses the importance of selecting the right variety of sunflowers, which range from 18 foot stalks to a knee-high cluster of pom-poms. Proper watering is crucial for sunflowers, as they have deep roots and need to be watered deeply and infrequently to encourage root growth.

The cupcakes are made using three different piping tips, including the 366, which is a large leaf piping tip. The bakery uses Korean piping tips GGcakraft 102 for the sunflower specifically, so the larger Wilton leaf tip 366 is recommended for bigger flowers. The tutorial also includes instructions on how to pipe the sunflowers, which can be made using 3 inch diameter sunflowers on the tops.
