When Does The Reeves Reed Arboritum’S Tulip Garden Bloom?

Reeves-Reed Arboretum, once a country estate, is now a 13.5-acre public garden listed on the National and State Registers of Historic Places. The gardens represent design trends by late 19th and early 20th century landscape architects, including Susie Graham Reeves. The park’s turf grass needs to be clear of leaves for visitors to safely walk, but it also aims to retain fallen leaves. Daffodils in NJ have already begun to bloom, so if you can’t make the event, you can still visit during the Arboreteum’s public hours. The peak bloom is in May, with dogwoods, azaleas, lilacs, deutzia, and crabapples. The Susie Graham Reeves Rose Garden contains 286 rose bushes, representing over 150.

The arboretum offers natural wonders all year round, from the annual April daffodil bloom with over 50,000 bulbs to the roses that will blossom in June. The Wisner house serves as a popular attraction. The Philadelphia Flower Show is held on Thursday, March 16, from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm.

Reeves-Reed Arboretum invites the community to join in the festivities of its annual Daffodil Day Festival on Sunday, April 14, from 5pm. April and May will feature the spectacular daffodil bowl, tulips, and spring flowering trees. Book your group’s private garden tour now for best availability.

In addition to the daffodil bowl, the Rose Garden comes to life in May, and the Perennial Border changes almost daily through late summer into early autumn. The floral arrangement workshop on Thursday, April 25, invites the season into your home by creating a joyful spring.
