I make the observation that 97% if sea level rise, since the end of our planet’s most recent Ice Age, took place before Christ was born. Just FYI….Lots of stuff grows in huge commercial greenhouses, with C02 levels much higher than in the atmosphere. Also, substantially more food is able to be grown in them than outside, and people work in them 24/7, with no ill effects. That said, when the ice returns, and it always does…..Civilization ends 90% of the human race perishes. Not much survives on ice hundreds of feet thick. Get a clue people.
This is all I can say to people who are STILL in denial of global warming. So China and India are going to not only stop increasing their pollution but decrease polluting? “Curbing” carbon emissions is a difference of 6 degrees? But the best we have in the world is 30% renewables in an extremely rich country like germany? After 15 years of trying, 30% in one small, wealthy country is the global standard, so in 85 years we can expect what? Germany was less than 1% of the worlds emissions, so if the trend doubles and we round germany up to one and assume every country in the world is wealthy and technologically advanced, we’ll have a decrease of 12% in emissions? So what exactly does curbing mean? Since 1880 we’ve gone up less than a degree, but in the next 85 years we will go up 6?
I want people to understand that Carbon Dioxide (what you exhale) described as a Green House Gas is never discusses in terms of emissions. As night falls Carbon Dioxide radiates Infrared energy (all materials do but some are better at it like CO2) this is important in the cooling cycle of earth. Once a molecule of CO2 loses some energy it can absorb energy from gases like Nitrogen and Oxygen and then pass that again as infrared. The heat capacity is the same for absorbtion and emission which means during a day night cycle CO2 helps warm as much as it helps cool. From all I’ve seen on the climate hype propaganda this fact is never mentioned. They want you to miss half the information and the truth about their Man Made Global Warming Theory.
Venus is a perfect example for greenhouse effect. On earth, there are 2 types of feedback, both positive: 1. Temperature rises -> more water vaporizes -> water vapor absorbs heat -> make earth warmer. 2. Temperature rises -> more cooling needed for humans-> more fossil resources used -> more CO2 -> CO2 absorbs heat -> make it warmer. There does not seem to be any effective way to turn them around.
A problem with this is that we need these factories to suffice for humanity’s population. Sure we could go solar but just for 1 house to go solar is $16,000! Think about how much it’ll cost to power an entire city. The fact is that we need to change yes but how much will that change cost? I don’t believe that we will face extinction. Solar activity fluctuates in an 11-year cycle. But so far in this cycle, the sun has been disturbingly quiet. The lack of increased activity could signal the beginning of what is known as a Maunder Minimum, an event which occurs every couple of centuries and can last as long as a century. Such an event occurred in the 17th century. The observation of sunspots showed extraordinarily low levels of magnetism on the sun, with little or no 11-year cycle. This solar hibernation corresponded with a period of bitter cold that began around 1650 and lasted, with intermittent spikes of warming, until 1715. Frigid winters and cold summers during that period led to massive crop failures, famine and death in Northern Europe. Tapping reports no change in the sun’s magnetic field so far this cycle and warns that if the sun remains quiet for another year or two, it may indicate a repeat of that period of drastic cooling of the Earth, bringing massive snowfall and severe weather to the Northern Hemisphere.
Given what we now already know about the greenhouse effect and the rising levels of greenhouse gases, shall we not someday look back as a species and marvel that we knew so very little about what really matters. This is so dishonest. The hottest years ever recorded are not now or lately. All of Florida was under the ocean at one point. Google temperature records for your state. It will tell you when the hottest and coldest years were. Hint: most of the hottest years go back to the 30s and have still never been broken.
I almost didn’t watch this because I have done so much research on climate change and it terrifies me how people laugh at or mock it like its not real. Government is making some steps towards this and I commend Obama for making it a point to address this issue and start the wheel rolling nationally and internationally. I think he has the right approach to find a way to make it profitable to lower emissions. Some companies like Disney have found ways to reduce waste and emissions at their parks by reducing materials used for packaging and food and fuel efficient vehicles and this has saved them loads of money at the same time. Other companies like Frito Lay have started to use solar panels at least in one of their facilities to make Sun Chips. One way or another the world will eventually have to find alternative energies when oil is depleted we should be working towards a sustainable solution now so we can be ahead of the game and reserve oil for special situations. I remember the cover story of the November 1976 issue of National Geographic. It told of the coming Ice Age. The story was about the nearly 100 years of falling global temperatures and how the rate of the fall was increasing. A graduate student told me a few years ago that that Earth is the hottest it has been in 396 years! I replied great! That means the Earth is now cooler than it was the year before the Mayflower landed with the Pilgrims in 1620. She said, it sounds crazy when I say it that way. But she did agree we both stated the same fact.

Tbh it is VERY hard to tell if it is real or not. This is due to the temperature constantly changing. Global Warming is a fact but it has been going on for 10,000 years since the last Ice Age, but is merely a small period in the VARIOUS cyclic phenomenons. World temperatures were started to be accurately and scientifically recorded in the 1800’s but geologists only estimated the (rising) temperatures before then. We have set 1850 as the arbitary benchmark starting point – a blinkered view.
