Water fasting is an ancient healing practice that offers numerous health benefits, including weight loss and reduced risk of certain chronic conditions. It can help you lose weight, regenerate your immune system, and may even slow aging. However, for water fasting to be safe and effective, you should fast properly.
During a water fast, many people aim to drink more than 8 cups (2 L) of water over the course of the day. However, your thirst should tell you when you need to drink more, so listen to your thirst.
A water fast (1 to 3 Days) begins when food consumption ceases, and water is consumed regularly throughout the day. Some studies recommend drinking water whenever it is desired, while others suggest drinking water whenever it is desired. To lower the risk of several chronic conditions, intermittent water fasting may be the way.
To successfully perform a water fast, drink 9-13 cups of water spread throughout each day. For your first fast, start with one day of fasting at a time, and follow the official guidelines on drinking water. Drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water daily, preferably mineralized water, to stay hydrated and replenish electrolytes.
For a 7-day water fast, prioritize hydration and rest. For sustained well-being, consider shorter fasting periods. The recommended maximum duration for a water fast is seven days, after which time you should gradually reintroduce solid foods into your diet.
To fast properly, ease into it, cut back on sugar ahead of time, plan ahead for medications, drink plenty of water, and cut down on sugar intake. The water fast lasts for 24-72 hours, but not longer than this without medical supervision due to health risks.

What is the longest safe fast?
Water fasting is a practice that has evolved from spiritual or religious reasons to promoting overall health, weight loss, longevity, and various health conditions. It is generally advised to fast for no more than 24 hours at a time. Fasting can also promote autophagy, which is the process of breaking down and recycling old cells, which can be beneficial for various health conditions. It is essential to consult with a healthcare professional to determine the safest and most suitable duration for fasting.
Will I lose muscle if I fast for 7 days?
Future studies suggest that consuming only one serving of protein per day is sufficient for maximal muscle growth. Fasting has been shown to prevent muscle loss, but more research is needed to determine the benefits of intermittent fasting versus 3-6 meals per day in resistance-trained individuals. A protein-rich meal before bed with carbohydrates, fat, and fiber can help slow digestion and prevent muscle loss.
Is a 5 day fast safe?
A clinical trial found that five-day water-only fasting reduced metabolic syndrome risk factors and increased anti-aging biomarkers without toxicity in normal-weight individuals. Water fasting offers health benefits like weight loss and reduced risk of chronic conditions, but may not be suitable for everyone. Fasting, a method of restricting food intake, has been practiced for thousands of years and has become popular for weight loss.
How many kg do you lose if you don’t eat for 7 days?
Researchers have observed that the body switches energy sources from glucose to fat stored within the first two or three days of fasting. The volunteers lost an average of 5. 7 kg of both fat mass and lean mass. After three days of eating, the weight stayed off, the loss of lean was almost completely reversed, but the fat mass stayed off. For the first time, the body exhibited distinct changes in protein levels after about three days of fasting, indicating a whole-body response to complete calorie restriction. These changes were consistent across the volunteers, but distinctive to fasting that went beyond weight loss.
Is fasting for 7 days healthy?
Water fasting can be beneficial for individuals for 2-3 days, but healthy individuals can undergo 7-day fasts without issues, provided fasting is not contraindicated. After 7 days, participants reported reduced stress, improved well-being, weight loss, better hydration and urinary health, less body acidity, lower blood sugar levels, and reduced blood sodium and blood pressure. However, downsides include depletion of calcium and magnesium stores and kidney protein sparing.
Longer fasts, such as 30 or 40 days, should be undertaken under strict medical supervision. Benefits include weight loss, improved metabolic health, and reduced inflammation, but risks such as severe nutrient deficiencies and muscle loss increase with the fast duration.

Are 72 hour fasts healthy?
Longer periods without food, such as 24-, 36-, 48-, and 72-hour fasting periods, may be dangerous and encourage the body to store more fat. Research shows that it takes two to four weeks for the body to become accustomed to intermittent fasting, and those who make it through the adjustment period tend to stick with the plan. During this time, water and zero-calorie beverages like black coffee and tea are permitted.
Is it unsafe to fast for a week?
Prolonged fasting periods have been associated with an increased risk of adverse effects, including dehydration, dizziness, and fainting. To mitigate this risk, it is advisable to limit the duration of fasting periods. Fasting entails the complete abstinence from food and drink for a designated period. However, certain fasting regimens, such as the 5:2 diet, permit the consumption of up to 25% of one’s daily calorie intake.
How much weight can you lose from water fasting for 7 days?
The research indicated that fasting can result in short-term weight loss. A five-day water fast was found to cause a weight loss of 4 to 6 pounds, a seven- to 10-day fast resulted in 2 to 10 pounds of weight loss, and a 15 to 20-day fast resulted in 7 to 10 pounds of total body weight loss. However, studies demonstrated that individuals typically experienced a greater loss of lean muscle mass than fat mass during a water fast.
Can you go 40 days with only water?
The results of recent studies indicate that fasting for 40 consecutive days and consuming only water can have adverse effects on the body, despite the potential for weight loss. The drugs Ozempic and Wegovy have been demonstrated to be unsafe for individuals with diabetes and obesity. The recent cardiac arrest of Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin serves as a stark example of the potential risks associated with these medications.
What are the stages of a 7 day water fast?
Water fasting is a popular practice that involves consuming only water for a specific period, aiming to trigger significant physical and cellular changes. The process begins with the depletion of carbs stored in muscles and liver, followed by the conversion to ketosis, where the body burns fat for fuel. The final stage is autophagy, where damaged cells are recycled. This fasting method is particularly beneficial for beginners, as it allows them to consume only water for a predetermined period, unlike other fasts that allow certain foods or calorie allotments.

Telling people to check with their doctor is counter intuitive.. Too many doctors that have their customers on prescriptions.. Will be too scared of lawsuits….(or scared of losing customers) To allow them to fast.. My endo told me she doesn’t recommend ANYONE fast.. Of course I ignored her and fasted for 16 days..
I am 64 yrs of age ; being suffering from emotional sufferings from my ex husband since I was 17 . I was told that I was fat & sent me to see my GP in 1976 . When my GP checked my weight, I was 7 stone in weight and my GP told me that I was under weight . Even after having two children I weighed 7 stone and 5 lbs . I suffered with chronic IBS since 1976 to this date (April 2023). I was at a lost point with my chronic pains hence I did an incredible amount of research into Fasting/Autophagy etc etc and decided to embark on Fasting for three days . This is my 4th day of fasting and my GI tract feel so so comfortable ; no chronic pains and burning tongue etc . I also stooped my antacids during fasting . My gut, my whole body and mind is so light and happy . First two days, I did struggle and cheated by eating three to 4, dates as well . I highly recommend for anyone to go ahead with fasting . Before doing it, please read and read about how it all works . Knowledge is extremely helpful knowing how intelligent it is . I am so grateful to all the medical and scientific community for sharing knowledge with us all . Love and blessings to all of you .
I’m on my 3rd day water fast for the first time. I’m 54 years old 5’2″ female, i did Atkins and IF during 5 years like 15 years ago, 3 months ago I was weighing 156 lbs, I started Keto diet which was very easy for me to adapt, also went back to IF, went down to 147 lbs, Monday September 9th i started water fasting, blood sugar 78, today Wednesday September 11th I’m 145.2 lbs, my blood sugar at 67, I feel great and will extend the fasting to Friday depending how I feel and my glucose levels in good points, I have been losing weight slowly which it’s normal on menopausal woman with estrogen dominance . Will update at the end of my water fasting
A few minutes shy of 66 hrs. Had planned a simple 3 day (72hr) strict water fast, but early this morning passing the mid 50s-hr mark the welcomed energy rush and mind clarity hit hard. I have decided to push on to a full 7 day fast. Actually will be even more as I will be at 168 hrs (7 days) 10pm Sunday evening, but because it will be bed time I will simply crawl in and sleep until my usual 6-7am rise and break the fast then. Hoping as this article presentation referencing the 4 days after the first 3 are basically the same and repeat the 3rd day. This could be life changing for me at 58 yrs. I have always been in excellent shape, but broke my neck severely racing motocross summer 2017 and it’s been hell ever since. It took this long to get to a point of health and mobility to try this. I was lucky that I didn’t become paralyzed, but the nerve damage and insane burning pain is brutal. I want to be able to play my guitars again and reduce the inflammation if possible. Not about any weight loss at this point, but I will welcome some fat reduction with toning to chest and hips. **Big bit of advice is that I did a full week of juicing before this fast. Really set my body up for intense fat burn and massive ketosis. I smell like a can of acetone 😁
We all have life stressors, this isn’t a reason to not fast… First, you should only fast if you feel compelled to do so. Sidenote: I did a 21 day fast all while cooking for my family daily, and working around food. Also, dealing with emotional stress at that time. I completed this successfully. I felt mentally clear, suddenly things that were everyday stressors didn’t seem so bad… I wish everyone well on their healing journey! 🙏🏽
You forgot to mention palpitations usually in the morning of day 3 and 4 because glucose and glycogen levels begin to go low, mostly because glycogen is depleted from muscle fibers. You forgot to mention loose stools on day 4-5-6 even for those whom have evacuated their intestinal content before starting the prolonged water fast. And also, no one nearly ever switches from burning carbs to burning fat (ketosis) as early as day 3 or 4 Usually it takes much more longer for most of us. Our bodies are just too used to burning glucose as fuel… it doesn’t even have the proper enzymes to be able to tap into our fat storage for energy. It actually takes time to shift over from oxidation of glucose to that of fatty acids –> ketones. It does happen, but NOT that quickly. So yes, there are some more issues to be addressed and aware of. Greetings from Italy 💝🍀
I’m so excited to be starting a new fast tomorrow. Today is the last day of pre fasting preparations. I’m aiming for 7 days this time and have every reason to believe I will make it. With the whole weel off I can rest or nap or work as needed. I’ve got my keto chow fasting drops and 3 cases of spring water and my chickens will be laying the eggs I’ll breakfast with on day 7.
Today is my fourth day of fasting,I’m going for a 7 day fasting,do not try to do this if you haven’t done it before, the first time do it for one day, next week do it for two days and at the third week,do it for three days, and repeat it at least for three times and then you’re ready, one more thing,do it if you think you’re overweight, that way you’ll be shedding fat…
Thanks I did a 12hr fast, Was a challange…i ate greasy foods afterwards because of cravings and then felt sick. Then a 30 hr fast, smells of a BBQ killed me. I transition slowly into foods. Then a 40 hr fast…. moody i was. .. transition slow into foods slowly, Paleo stlye no wheat no bad fats Now i will prepare for 7 day journey…. salts important as well as vitamin C . Blueberries and avacado its tuff but it will reset my life. I have too look great for my Thailand trip. Thanx Dr Nick
I’m on hour 29 of a 36 hour fast. Multiple day fasting just seems beyond me at this point. I’m attempting one 36 hour fast a week for four weeks just to see if I can break an 18 month plateau. 3 years ago I went from a horrible diet to a very healthy diet, and my BMI dropped from 43 to 29 in 18 months. Since then, I’ve been trying to figure out how to get down to a BMI of 25.
I completed 3 days. It was so healing for my gut after years of autoimmune damage. I’m going to do another 3 days after 2 weeks, then a 7 day 3 weeks after that. This will definitely be a part of my life moving forward. Between a lectin free diet and water fasting it’s the first time I found something that helps.
Man this is just what I needed! I’ll be going for a three day fast at the end of September, then I’ll take on the seven day fast a month later. Thank you so much Dr. Z! I’ve been using your electrolyte + & Amino Recovery products for only a few days & I LOVE THEM BOTH! Such clean, concentrated & healthy energy, no jitters or shakes, no negative side effects whatsoever! Honestly, intermittent & prolonged fasting with your guidance is a health breakthrough of a lifetime! I’ve checked out a few other sources, but I can tell you’re the real deal…& your articles & products prove it. Can’t wait to order the new cookbook asap!
another point why you shouldn’t eat like a beast after fasting – you haven’t been producing insulin. if you eat carbs, your blood sugar will shoot through the ceiling and you’ll get hyperglycemic. i prefer to do broths and juices for the same number of days I fasted and then add in light vegetables, etc…i got pho after my first fast to drink the broth and i had like one fork full of noodle. my blood glucose went from 82 mg/dL to 160 mg/dL in 8 minutes and I felt like I was going to pass out. no bueno…
Thank you so much for this article! It’s a great guide for fasting beginners. Concerning the salt, how frequent should it be consumed during the fast? One glass of salted water per day? One crystal of salt per day? Crystals throughout the day? Or should a little salt be added to all the water we’re drinking? What do you suggest?
Wow who knew that ancient cultural thing actually have a scientific health benefit. This type of fasting is common in my cultural background, as javanese we called it puasa mutih ( white fasting ) because we only drink water for a period of time. This practice have been done since ancient time, before I didn’t know that this type of fasting have real health benefit, because my ancestor used to do this for spiritual cleansing, maybe I should try to practice my own culture more often..
All I want to know is what should I start off eating after I come off my 7 day fast, I’m on day 6 right now and reading through the comments some people say start off with bananas, steamed broccoli, cauliflower with a little sea salt, no butter, a little butter. Saw somewhere else to start off with watermelon, melon only. Soups only, someone said mash potatoes, like what do I literally need to start off with, this is my first 7 day water fast, I’ve done 24 hrs before
I did 3 42 hour fasts and one 68 hr fast. His experience is about the same as mine, but I remember the hunger actually going up on day three. But felt very good otherwise and slept less like the DR. experienced night. I used distilled water with pink salt. Otherwise no vitamins or coffee or tea, just water. I think I broke the fast eating too much, but DID eat small and wait 3 hours to eat bigger. I used fish and Pickled herring, some pasta and a little bread. Some apple cider vinegar. But for ALL the fasts my stomach felt “heavy” at first and took about four days to be completely back with same stools and no “heavyness”. The four days however I was eating more than usual. What is weird and unexpected is that I could “feel” when my metabolism reversed. I felt very weak and nauseous for about 5 – 10 minuets, But then felt fine again but slightly “different” This happened every time in the late afternoon of the first full day.
I did go for a 7 day water fast, ended at day 3. After 2 days of fasting, my tongue turned numb. It was extremely uncomfortable and it kept getting worse. I wonder if this is what everyone is going through during long fasts and if it’s medically dangerous? I don’t have any known health issues and I’m not overweight.
I’m on day 6. It’s been two years since I’ve done a long fast (used to do a few 5 and 6 days fasts and even a 10). Last summer I did every other day fasting. I’ve fasted for 24 hours a few times this summer, but it’s been a while since a long one… I wasn’t hungry on this fast so I just kept going and realized I could make it an extended one I’ve been meaning to do. But… I was hoping to make it to 10, but days 4-6, I just feel SO SICK. I’m nauseas, faint, had terrible heart burn one night, and no energy… so I think I have to quit. I’m pushing it one more day just to make it to 7 since I’m so close and there’s an autophagy that happens at the point I really want to hit for health reasons. But dude, this fast was bad after day 4! I feel SO done. *I’ve been taking electrolytes every day and a little sea salt. I’ve been taking MCT oil in tea to relieve some symptoms.
I just completed a 7 day fast and it went great; however, I struggle with it much more than this doctor says. I went into the fast pretty much exactly as he explains, but around day 2 or 3 I get so low energy like my body weighs a ton. Even sitting or laying down is laborious. It’s like walking around all day carrying a weight and you can never put it down to rest. Anyway, I broke the fast with a small orange and later a small papaya. For lunch and dinner I had 100% grass fed beef shank, with the bone, soup with herbs and vegetables, slow cooked overnight. It tasted like the best meal I ever tasted and at night my stomach felt so good like it was healing. Hopefully I can make it an annual or semi-annual tradition and hopefully it’ll get easier.
You mentioned several times being tired and sluggish and out of energy. My experience was I was full of energy and actually have a hard time sleeping at night. I’m very surprised by your statement and concern about being tired and sluggish. While not mentioning that you might feel great and energized to have mental clarity. Did you really do a 7-Day fast?
Ok I have to ask anybody here, I did 7 day water fast and day 5 and on I got severe pack pain to the point I couldn’t sleep, no matter how much water and electrolytes I took. It puzzles me every time I do these prolonged fasts and a lot of people have the same issues on the forums, no body knows the answer.
I am on day 3 liquid no suger keto fast I planned to to do 3 days but I feel I can go 5 days I ll see what will happen… I add black coffee herb teas and parsley tea with pink salt.. and this is the first time I do a long fast being in ketolicious before starting my long fast made it so much easier no headaches not feeling week at all though I have Diarrhea as a side effect. Less sleep needed ofcourse
If you have recommendations for nutrient sufficiency/efficiency without supplements that would be welcome.I am starting carnivore after a year of keto, IF, and prolonged fasting and 2 years of study. I have done very long prolonged fasts and like it. I am taking carnivore weekly with a 5 days fast and weekend refeed. Meat, fish and organs every weekend with the necessary calories. Grass fed, finished, as possible. Best water possible. Carnivore diet can twice weekly organs for vitamins. Fish for omegas too. Friday and Sunday organs. Main refeed Saturday. Friday is half the calories of Saturday. I exercise 56 km weekly and am comfortable. My energy is great. I have any nutrients I need if there is a nutrient deficiency symptom. Any recommendations to get this perfect?
Hey dr. Z! First of all I want to say thank you for all the amazing content you consistently post, perusal your articles has become a daily habit to remind myself what I should be doing! I would like to request a article subject I’m sure many people would find interesting, about some general guidelines for someone with type two diabetes, reducing carbs, starting to eat well, how would this person go about weening off the insulin and the medication? Like easing doses as you decrease carbs, of corse but is there like some sort of general guidelines or tips you can teach me, so I be educated and able to give solid tips for people like my dad and my uncle who have been told diabetes is a lifelong uncurable disease for years? I totally screwed that sentence up haha I’m sure you got the idea! Hope to hear back from you soon, thanks again! See you in the next one!
Sea Salt ? Or Pink Himalayan Salt which doesn’t have the anti cakeing additives. Also Distilled water doesn’t have the minerals and toxins that are still in so called (Purified Water) Minerals that are in water are 98% inert and inorganic that the human body (Cannot Use) Fasting is Amazing so thanks for spreading the word Dr. Z ! 👍
I did it once for 12 days. Was supposed to do it for 14 but got too exhausted and had to cut it short. I was fine until day 7 then started to get weak. I refed on day 13 and my energy levels got right back. Last week I did 3 days and it took me another 3 days to recover from exhaustion. Any explanation? Thanks
Day 1 and 2 were pretty cool, day 3 I had headache, overall I had pretty weird energy levels. But mind you that I spent the previous month ONLY eating fast food. So yeah, not a very good choice for me. Listen to Nick get those crazy insulin levels in check and get your brain into low carb, then go for it.
Today is day 5 for me and I broke it around lunch time with watermelon, hibachi veggies a little later and coffee late evening. I am on a 14 day water fast program. What do you suggest I do to get back on track? Should i just simply pick back up where I left off ? And when I do, Will my body quickly use up the food I just gave it and pick back up where it left off to burn fat? Please help. Thanks
If you have never fasted before, start off small. Try a twelve-hour fast. Basically, eat your last meal of a day, then don’t eat anything for twelve hours. Many of those hours will be while asleep so it will be easier. Once comfortable doing that, maybe up it to sixteen hours. Once comfortable with that, maybe try 24 hours. Once comfortable with that, go 48 hours. My plan at this time is to do a 16 hour fast every other day, but a part of me is tempted to say “screw it” and just go on a 72 hour fast once a week for the heck of it. I’m about sixteen hours into a fast right now as of this comment. I’m also taking some supplements though. Some fish oil, a multivitamin, and some vitamin C. I could probably get away with not taking those, but I figure it can’t hurt. When the sixteen-hour mark comes up, if I feel like it, I will bump it to 24-hour. When the 24-hour mark comes up, if I feel like it, I will bump it to 36 hours.
You didn’t mention the detox headache. It’s rough, and I’ve never not had one. It’s debilitating. I only eat whole, organic foods, grass-fed meats, etc., and that headache comes every single time. Funny, I break my fasts with steamed cauliflower with butter and salt because I crave it. IT TASTES SOOOOOO GOOD, too
What levels of sodium would you recommend for a 200lb man? I have a tendency towards tachycardia after 4-5 days of ketogenic levels of carbs and the only reason I can come up with is serious electrolyte depletion. It has been suggested that I should be taking 3-5000mg of sodium ( I use himalayan) and I also have good quality potassium citrate, but there are obvious warnings about taking too much potassium, despite the amount we need daily.
Here is the deal, if you wish to do prolonged water fasting (and there ARE ZERO hacks for this in case you were wondering) THE ONLY THING MORE CHALLENGING than that is THE PREPARATION for a proper prolonged water fast…and that is a COOKED FOOD FAST…you believe that this is easy, challenge yourself to do 1 week raw…see if you think cooked food has little addictive potential. I will almost guarantee you that it will be the most challenging week you have gone through for awhile. Welcome to the big time, finding out what were made of, knowing yourself. So that is 1 week fully raw fruits n veggies…it’s super hard when 99.9% of society hates to eat like that (if appearances are anything) yet also the fact that most of us have super little experience for even a day or two without USELESS (to survival and in fact often it’s more like a slow death) cooked foods…then once you see how nearly beyond hard this is, ask yourself WHY? Why would something that is unnecessary to your survival be that ingrained in your life.
Dr. Z, What is the longest day water fast you’d recommend or have seen personally? Would you ever think it’s okay after a fast to eat fruit or nuts? Many people’s strategy has been watermelon, broth, or eggs afterwards. My longest was 2 weeks but I definitely felt so great mentally energy wise I could’ve continued up to 21 days.
I do 36-40hr fast from dinner Sunday to lunch Tues every week. I have made it to 83hrs once just because I got busy then said Let’s See Where I Get. I’m not too sure yet about 5-7 days. A couple days in and I start getting racing thoughts and nervous energy like I’m on some weird drug. If that’s a Reset then I may be a super villain if I ever get a very clean system
I was doing a fast and by day three I felt so weak my legs were so weak by day 4 I was walking soooooo slow I couldn’t walk fast at all no joke elderly people with crouches were walking past me! I got emotional by day 5 and actually was crying as I couldn’t take it that I ended up eating so pls can someone explain why I didn’t get my energy up by day 3 as this man claims…… I still am trying to fast but not sure if to continue how I was doing it.
something u might want to mention. I did a 4 day water (and coffee) fast and I like to do it begining or each month. This month I drank some alcohol (neat malt whisky) on the evening of the 3rd day, and felt wierd. I sampled my blood suger and while stable before arround 75 to 78 for previous days, it had crashed down to 63!… I was worried it might not stop crashing so ate a tomato before bed and it fixed it. I think during a fast the liver stabilises blood suger and keeps you fine. For me at arround 78. But the alcohol seemed to “distract” the liver from doing its Job, resulting in a suger crash. No alcohol while fasting I learned… If this is true you should mention it in the article. Hope this helps.
I don’t know if you’ll be responding to comments on this article anymore, but I’m wondering about some supplements I take. I have to have magnesium to avoid leg cramps and migraines, and I’m pretty sure that’s okay to take while fasting. I will assume iodine (iodoral) is okay too. But I’m really wondering about DIM. I take it daily to avoid ovarian cyst pain and insanely heavy periods. So heavy that is nearly impossible to work as I need to walk very carefully to the restroom every 20 minutes. I’m hoping 1 DIM supplement daily won’t break my fast!
3 weeks ago I did my first 7 day water fast. I have been doing intermittent fasting for about 6 months. I didn’t know that I should eased into the 7 day water fast, but I jumped into it and I did love the results. I lost 17.2 lbs, I continued my medications. My stomach would growl, yet I didn’t find myself hungry. I’m going to do my second water fast starting tomorrow. I did a 2 day fast that started Thursday, so I’ll see what the difference is this go around. I just want to lose weight… I’m not at my ideal weight 😩
I jumped into a 7 day water fast, and there were days when I wanted to give up but my mum did it with me and she told me to continue. When she wanted to give up, I told her to continue, luckily we wanted to give up at different times. On Friday, I went to a picnic and didn’t feel like eating, on Saturday I went to pub and only drank water but I was a bit less energetic. I think that 6 days was the perfect amount but I continued to 7 days. Next time I’ll just do 6 days because the last day was awful. I lost more weight later in the week and I did light exercise every day. Walking up the stairs made me really tired even for a week afterwards, although I still had a decent amount of energy besides that and I needed less sleep.
The sleep thing is funny🤣 you dont sleep much while fasting, you cant . Dr z you should know this if you did it. When i did it i never sleeped much and i also had no low energy. You are also not full energy, hard to explain, but you are very awake and nervous all the time. You always have the feeling you have to go somewhere but you dont know where. You are restless all the time. Hunger is not a problem while being in deep ketosis.
How do you feel about this length of time when the job you do is very strenuous and labour intensive. I found after halfway through the third day I was just about done in and my ability to work all day began to be effected. I suspect if you are in a job like sitting in an office etc it won’t be so hard. I suspect just saying you will do exercise it isn’t as demanding as doing a manual job for 9 hours.
