Botania is a Minecraft mod that focuses on flowers, with two types of flora: functional and generating. The Petal Apothecary is a block that allows players to infuse petals and runes to create generational and functional flowers. It requires water to function and can be filled with water by right clicking or throwing a bucket of water. Botania generates Mystical Flowers in 16 different colors, which can be crafted into Mystical Petals.
Botania can be automated using a single bucket to autofill the apothecary with a dropper tower. To farm botania flowers, players can replant petals or bonemeale the ground. The Petal Apothecary can be filled with water and used to create flowers by placing one petal in dirt, bonemealing it, and using shears for extra petals.
To create a flower, the correct petals and runes must be thrown in the Petal Apothecary, and seeds of any type must be thrown in. When making multiple of the same flower, one should be made first and then right-click the petal apothecary with an empty hand. The jaded ameranthus is set up above the growing field to prevent interruptions to water flow. Hoppers gather the flowers, which can be thrown into a Mana Pool to make Mana Petals or ground up with a Mortar and Pestle to make Floral Powder.
One modlist wants to add Botania to their modlist but wants to drastically reduce the number of flowers spawned. They dislike the giant flower patches that change the overall gameplay experience.
