The greenhouse effect can be achieved in caves by following the steps outlined in a video. The greenhouse panels check for non-greenhouse structures or terrain directly above them for X distance. Building in a cave will result in a jack squat in terms of greenhouse effect. Non-caves can also experience greenhouse effects, such as wind and rain. This discovery is significant as it can improve the accuracy of past climate signals from cave deposits and help understand previously unexplained artefacts in existing past climate. Human activity, such as increased fertilization, heavy metals, and pesticide infiltration, can impact cave-adapted organisms. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is an important greenhouse gas and its distribution between the atmosphere, oceans, and vegetation is well studied. Thermal patterns and cyclicity in caves are particularly relevant for studying the impact of climate change in subterranean ecosystems.
However, most caves won’t get the greenhouse effect. Building in a cave system requires meeting greenhouse effect requirements in your build. Building greenhouse structures in caves provides no greenhouse effect, and building them underneath a tree platform or under an obstacle will result in zero greenhouse effect.
