I really don’t see Flowers as being a song to diss her ex, but a very empowering song about how you need to love yourself first, and that you don’t need a partner to make you complete. I think she did this with class, and calling it a diss on Liam just cheapens the message. She didn’t say one hurtful word about him, just that she’s good with herself, and I commend her for it!

Well, Miley never really came out point blank and said Jennifer Lawrence slept with Liam. Otherwise Jennifer can come out and say prove it. There’s no reason for anyone to stay in an unhappy relationship. But we think as time goes on I put too much time into this or that we can’t leave. And shes not disrespecting him or anyone for that matter. But simply she’s saying what he didn’t do for her. That doesn’t mean he won’t do it with another women. He and someone else could be great together but the 2 of them were toxic for one another. This is very empowering by saying she doesn’t need him to do all of those things since she can do them for herself. And it’s freeing!! Knowing that you don’t have to keep someone who is toxic just because you think you should or you’re told you should. She can do all of these for herself and love her better than anyone else can.
I guess I never paid attention to songs that talk about betrayal and cheating. Now going through that myself at this moment in life after years in a relationship just realized that wow it really hurts .I am not no young chicken which makes it worse . I found them in bed … my mouth got dry, couldn’t cry.. just felt an emptiness inside .. it was the most horrible (relationship) experience I’ve ever had . Never went through that at a young age .. Going through this at my age is really heartbreaking. I cried till there was no more tears to cry for days .. Wondering how? When? Why?Still do .. cry.. I thought they were still together and that their relationship had started just recently! Maybe because I’m a 52 year old man… been into music my whole life, but not into Miley’s music, ever, but I saw her JRE interview and instantly respected her and loved her personality. Her dad is smooth too. Still, not my type of music… However, recently I’ve been forced to listen to FM radio in the car and they play the crap out of that flowers song, so much that I’ve scrutinized it over and over again and I’ll be damned if it’s not a bona fide pop masterpiece. Up there with Aretha Franklin’s Chain of Fools. Miley just sounds so natural on the song, her voice, her attitude, the melody… and I know she’s been doing it her whole life but now she really has composed a masterpiece… just my two cents.

And, as for the song “Flowers”, I do recall hearing it for the second time last week at a public swimming pool, and I do THINK that she says “I can love me better”. Unless, I got Miley’s song “Flowers” mixed up with another popular song that had been played at the pool that day. Anyhow, I do wish Miley the best. She’s been through alot at her young age, and she has “GREAT PIPES”. Her voice is kinda rare. people are putting too much story on the song. Flower doesn’t look/sound like a diss song to her ex at all. yes it is a very empowering song but that’s all it is. it didn’t mention anything about him cheating on her 14 times, where is the “14 times” in the lyrics? where is the part that says “he cheated”? anybody can wear Gold as it is beautiful and almost every woman’s dream. i love Miley since Hanna Montana and i admire her writing and singing prowess. how about we just enjoy the song as it is?
He was probably tired of her unwomanly behavior and had options…not good to cheat though. Should have just left and moved on. But the fact that celebs are this messy makes the masses of public way less respectful for the sanctity of marriage. Pop songs are co-written with producers in the studio. Pop songs are not true confessions or diary entries. They do factor in what is on brand for that artist at that time in their career, but that song could have been brought to her as a germ of an idea by one of the producers and then fleshed out to be what it became. It does not necessarily reflect their true suffering, or their true experience. Sometimes a pop song is just a pop song!
The song is beautiful for women who broke hearts over a dishonest affair. Well this is not new anymore, its about women who loves with all their hearts and yet was abused, that she realized she can fill all those that she expected things from men. All I have to say is Liam messed up HUGE. He should have made Miley his center through good and bad. Miley should have been the only female Liam saw and she was not. Why even go back knowing Liam is going to cheat again and again 14 times for real? Who knows when the 2 kissed? We do not know. That’s for them to own and live with.
