📹 Shopping for Plants at Grocery Stores | Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods
Have you ever been shopping for plants at grocery stores? Well, today I did and I was pleasantly surprised. They are starting to …
My Trader Joes in Bellingham Wa is a great place to buy plants, and they often are medium to large sizes. The prices are very reasonable and some of my recent purchases included Ctenanthe Lubbersiana, Philodendron Xanadu, and Calathea Medallion, all in 6-8 or even 10 inch pots. And one more, a tiny kalanchoe plant ib a Halloween mini skull planter that now has one blazing orange flower!
Love shopping for plants and food at Trader Joe’s!!!! They have great prices on plants you don’t always find at Big Box stores. Funny thing is I had planned on seeing if my husband would go by there tomorrow after work. Now I really want him to so hopefully I can get a BIG Zanadu. Mine is pretty small. And I LOVE the selection of plants at Whole Foods too!!! They have nice healthy plants for great prices. And I especially love that most of their potted cacti and succulents come with the plant name and care instructions for that particular plant!!!!
I am not the best with begonias, the ones that work for me are the Angle Wing types. I also have a Beef Steak Begonia and it is one of my very favorite plants. It’s a very easy Begonia. Also my mother grew those mini roses when I was a child she always had them as a house plant and keep them in the kitchen window😊
I check my grocery stores, once in a while you can find a gem. I got a Monstera adansonii and a marble queen at very good prices in the spring. Thanks for taking us along. I love the xanadu ❤️ wish I had room for one. My Lowe’s had 12 inch full pots for $15… I wanted it so bad but there isn’t room. 🤷🏻♀️
OMG, Carmen! My neighborhood Kroger sold me a bunch of dud, overwatered succulents this summer so I stay away from their plants now, but the other day I saw the biggest (3 to 4 feet tall) and healthiest peace lily I ever saw – sitting right there – screaming my name – and I bought it for only $17.99! I figured if ever a peace lily was a good thing to have in a house, it’s now, during all this covid madness. Trader Joe’s is always great – unbeatable prices – generally healthy plants – but I have no idea how you resisted those begonias at Whole Foods! I’m a total beginner with begonias myself, but I’ve gone cuckoo this fall, and bought myself several. I so hope I don’t kill em all now…yikes!
