Finishing the timber frame with a doorway. Some injuries slowing things down as I broke also my elbow after filming this video :P.
It might look good with white window frames. Red house and white window frames is very traditional. I approve of the use of screws instead of nails. I prefer screws, myself. Maybe it would have been different a long time ago when you needed to tighten screws by hand, unless you had fancy machinery not every household would possess, but these days a cordless drill will do all the work.
I always get so nostalgic for the Nordic woods when I watch your articles. Grew up in Sweden, we’ve got so many places that look just like your backyard, with the tall pines and blueberries covering the forest floor (the English name is actually “bilberries”, blueberries is a whole other plant, but, you know… I think of them as blueberries). Anyway, hope your toe heals quickly, and hope you feel better from the flu. The door frame looks great, really like how you worked some stones into the concrete pad.
