How To Trim Those Amazing Hydrangeas?

Pruning Incrediball hydrangeas is a simple and effective method for maintaining healthy growth and beautiful blossoms. These smooth hydrangeas bloom on new wood, not overwintered wood, making them ideal for pruning in autumn or spring. Incrediball hydrangeas can be pruned anytime as they bloom on new wood, and can be cut to the ground, shaped, or left.

To maintain a strong, supportive woody base, cut the branches back by about 1/3 of their total length in early spring. This simple task can be done yearly, taking off just one-third of its height and width. In the early summer, cut a nice green stem with a few sets of leaves off the shrub, which should be at least 6 inches long. Cut out one or two of the oldest stems at the base to encourage new, replacement growth that will produce more flowers.

Incrediball hydrangeas are easy and forgiving to prune, and they can be pruned in late fall, early spring, or late winter, from February to March. By following the step-by-step pruning guide, you can ensure healthy growth and gorgeous blossoms for your Incrediball hydrangea plants.
