How To Construct A Starfield Commercial Greenhouse?

In Starfield, players can establish greenhouses at their outposts to grow organic resources. To do this, they must first find a planet with at least a few Flora and scan the plantlife that produces the Organic Resource. Greenhouses need water and electricity to work independently. To streamline greenhouses and boost Amp production, players can streamline their outpost’s greenhouses.

There are two types of resources in the game: Organic and Non-Organic. Organics are obtained by collecting plants and looting animals found on various planets. To build a greenhouse, players must first establish an Outpost and find a planet with the desired resources or flora. The greenhouse must be connected to a solid storage container using an output link.

To craft a greenhouse, a suitable plant 100 must be scanned on the planet. This module requires Horticulture 1 research. The Greenhouse Guide in Starfield provides information on how to research Horticulture and automate flora resource production.

In addition to building greenhouses, players can also construct furniture and decorations for living areas or set up extractors and fabricators for manufacturing hubs. By scanning the native flora species on the planet, players can create a greenhouse and automate their organic resource farming endeavors.

  • So with greenhouses I just found out (via trial and error) that you can only place your greenhouses on the same planet you have scanned a plant 100%! I tried scanning something that could be produced in a greenhouse and could build the greenhouse on that planet but when I went to my main base I didn’t even have the greenhouse in my build menu!

  • I am level 25 and just completed all outpost research. I have an idea. I’ll be adjusting the math for each but essentially X2 the Argon and H20. Industrial greenhouses instead. And use the foundation “concrete wall” trick of stacking storage containers then deleting all but the top one in order to keep its foundation, making a “wall”. Chaining the storage along the top in segments no longer than 40. I shall update.

  • embarrassing amount of hours, and i learned something, great vid (the amount produced per min). Looking for a bug fix where i cant link anything to anything. cant link cargo to each other cant link greenhouse to storage. i definitely don’t have 60 links as all i was doing was simple amp set up… this games bugs are soooo frustrating. guess i will try to make another outpost and if that doesn’t work i’ll give up on the game.

  • I’ve got Botany 1 and Horticulture 1, and Jemison 100%, but still no option for a greenhouse! Jemison can’t have greenhouses?! The Outposts could have been good, but it’s broken clunk, not including having to have all the building resources on your ship. FIXED: I had 100% flora on Jemison from months ago, but when I looked with the scanner there was a plant with the light blue outline and when I scanned it it added the greenhouse to the Builder tab!

  • i maxed out my outpost module skill…….invested in botany……..ran around like a crackhead, SPENT crackheaded amounts of money……..all so i could grow FOOD on my outpost at an alien world, just to be told i wasted skill points and over 300,000 credits. i really need to look into these perks before i invest in them.
