  • I have a couple 3500 silverados. The truck stop def isn’t cheaper in the long run. Full tank of DEF from truck stop last about 800 miles. Blue DEF last me about 1600 miles Blue def platinum last me about 2200 miles. Not only that the truck stop def dropped my mpgs and the platinum helped my mpgs. So yes cheaper at the pump but more expensive in the pocket. You’ll be buying more def and fuel use it from the truck stop. I’m a hot shot driver so I put in a lot of miles and researched all the def out there. Hands down to the blue def platinum

  • Well depends on how busy the gas station you go to, I always get my diesel and def at speedway by my house, it is very busy truck stop, they wouldn’t risk their business with bad fuel or def to make one of the truck driver unhappy, he will make sure every semi driver know not go there, so I am confident to say use good truck stop and you will be fine with clean fuel and def.

  • But…yes, truck stop is probably the freshest DEF since it’s used daily by big rigs. Its all regulated to be made the same regardless of the brand. But truck stop DEF is more at risk for crystallization because of fluid left in the pump hose from previous fills. DEF crystallizes from age, poorly storage and rapidly from exposure to the atmosphere. Not saying don’t use Truck stop DEF, it’s most certainly cheaper. But make sure the hose and nozzle was stored properly from the previous use. That means hose rolled up, door sealed etc… You definitely don’t want to risk pumping crystallized fluid in your tank just to save a couple of buck when you fill up.
